Our Verdict

This is the same offer as what is being offered in branch. Most recent increased bonus was 70,000 points. Card is worth considering if you can make use of the benefits to justify the high annual fee, otherwise you’ll be better off with the 85,000 Chase Sapphire Preferred bonus. We will add this offer to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

$300 travel credit update:
•Like in years past your $300 annual travel credit will reset in December and you will start to receive statement credits for travel purchases.
•On December 30, 2024, any unused portion of your $300 credit will be applied to your account as a statement credit.
•Starting in 2025, your $300 travel credit will then reset annually on November 8 and you will start receiving
statement credits up to $300 for your travel purchases.
•All other rewards program terms continue to apply.

Henry Is that for older cards or is this something new? Mine reset in April (cardholder year).

Looks like so. I got my card long time ago, and it seems Chase is changing the resetting date from calendar year to anniversary year for us.

Deal is still active from in app application. Just applied for CSR Friday 06/21 evening PST. Had forgotten to thaw Experian so was not approved instantly. Unfroze Experian and called Chase to process the application again. Instant approval and confirmed with rep that I got the 75k offer 4k spend in 3 months.
Note: Referral links that had the offer before did not work yesterday when I applied from the Chase app

Hi, I need a suggestion. I applied for CSR with referral and got denied. I had a CSP that I have opened 5/2021 and downgraded around 6/22. I am well below 5/24 (for personal credit cards). My credit score is 805. Is there any number where I can call for reconsideration? Or should I just wait bit longer?

Sazadur Rahman 5/2021 is only three years ago. The time period between Sapphires is 4 years. That’s probably why you were denied.

Anyone knows when this promotion ends? I just closed my no-annual-fee version of Sapphire and the rep said it may take 2-month to apply either CSR or CSP.

Should not take that long to clear the system. May take up to 30 days if applying in branch but you should be able to apply online much sooner than that.

Can I get CSP with a SUB and then upgrade it to CSR after a year?

Just applied, got the “We need to review your application” pop-up message. Guessing they’ll want me to reduce my CL on some of my other Chase cards. Should I wait a few days and then call recon or is there a number I can call to check if my app magically changes to Accepted?

Once you downgrade, do you lose the travel insurance on travel booked previously with the Reserve Card?

mariap I had that same question when considering cancelling/downgrading my card last year. The rep said yes. Even though it was only one CSR rep that said it, my booking was an international trip and travel insurance would be costly, it was better for me to keep the card another year.

Need help / Process Clarificaiton. I currently have Chase Sapphire Preferred. Chase Sapphire cusotmer service confirmed I’m eligiable for a second Sapphire bonus. I’m looking to jump up to the Reserve. They told me I must first change products from the Preferred down to a Freedom or Flex before applying for the Reserve other wise i’d be auto denied. Is this accurate?

I’m in the same boat.

James Yes. You need to get rid of the Sapphire Preferred because you can’t hold a Sapphire and apply for a new one. You have the option to cancel it but most product change to a non-Sapphire card.
