My wife got one. Don’t know that it is worth much, but we have three flights scheduled on Delta and her temporary status allowed us to select better seats in main cabin than we had already chosen — a poor man’s upgrade that will get us off the plane faster when we land. As her companion, I got the same deal. I suppose this will allow us to board sooner and get that coveted overhead space.
Is this worth anything? I got excited at first, but then realized that paying the lowest fares I likely never will get upgraded to first, not even on short-haul flights.
Targeted and never had status at Delta or any other airline.
I had gold medallion status and didn’t receive an email.
I received it. I had Silver Medallion once three decades ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tip for newbies: Delta occasionally does tier status matches. You have X status or AA or UA or whatever. Based on what level X is, Delta will grant you some level of Medallion status. If you meet the match requirements, how long your Medallion status lasts depends on WHEN you do the status match. If you do your match during January 1 to June 30, your Medallion status will last until December 31 of the CURRENT year. If you do your status match during July 1 to December 31, your Medallion status will last until December 31 of the NEXT year. Hope this helps.

This is extremely helpful and I pose a question to you my fellow miles and points person: I’m thinking of getting another credit card, and this would have the net effect of boosting me up to silver status. Though I will be obtaining silver by a different method – would it still hold true that if I do the card upgrade at July 1 or thereafter, I will have status through December 31 of the NEXT year? That was not my experience. I think the status match only lasted for 3 months (something like that). I did it Jan to June, and I lost status before my Oct international flight.

never targeted. p2 and p3 are silvers from a few international trips on cash. The only time they have been upgraded to FC is flying to the mainland Canada thru DTW.
I’ve never had Delta status and received it. Only thing I’ve done is a recent business class international flight.
