The Offer

Press Release

  • Use code BDAY in the promo code box when booking to receive the discount. Deal is only available in the mobile app.

The Fine Print

  • Restrictions, exclusions, and blackout dates apply. Seats and days are limited. The discount applies before government taxes and fees. The sale opens to all Customers at 8:00 p.m. CT and remains available through June 13. Visit Southwest.com to book and view full terms and conditions.

Our Verdict

A lot of blackout dates, but still a great deal. It’s also a good time to check on currently booked flights and lock in the lower price.

I can also confirm that same discount is available on computer. No need to use phone app.

I kept getting lower prices but certainly weren’t 50% lower.

Same offer available via computer. (confirming no need to use the app) Sooooo much easier to see flight options, savings, multiple date ranges, with the larger screen. Does help to have the search done with promo code default inserted.

rebooked maybe 8 flights in 30 mins and saved about $200 in total

It doesn’t seem like the promo code is necessary at all. Selecting my preferred date and cities, none of the listed flights had a different price compared to searching with no promo code. One flight does have the smaller font price crossed out with a lower price listed below it, but the promo code was definitely not needed to get it. The search results are identical either way. I can’t tell if the crossed out price was inflated to make it seem like a deal…

Make sure you search with and without the promo code.
I found using the promo code showed fewer options than not using it..
Essentially the promo code did nothing for my dates/routes

I am now seeing the same promo code on the website.

I found savings on some fares, but definitely much less than 50%.
