American Express Business Platinum Cardholders Get Mysterious $10-$30 Mailed Checks

Many Reddit users report receiving $10.xx checks for money owed to them as being American Express Business cardholders. Apparently there were $10 wireless credits not paid out and these are being sent out with interest. Some speculate that it has to do with credits not posting for Google Fi purchases, but no one seems entirely certain exactly what these are for. Others think this is for missing Entertainment credits instead.

Some people got $20.xx check or $30.xx checking, possibly for some months combined. Others even got a dozen or more of these checks. It’s been sent even to people who are not aware of any missing credits, so keep an eye out and don’t throw out the mail too quickly.

Got over a dozen ranging from $10.xx to $30.xx. No idea if I am missing credits. Not worth my time to check.

Received a check for $10.26. I am sure it is for the wireless credit.

I received two checks for $10+. I believe I did not have use wireless credit, and I don’t use Google FI. But I’ve been chatting with them every single month for the Entertainment credits since January of 2024. I subscribed Wallstreet Journal for $4 a month, and they never automatically credit it to me. I had to chat with CS every single month to get them manually credit me, and sometimes I had to chat a few times until I get a competent CS to help me. I gave up and unsubscribed WJ a couple of months ago, because it was a hassle to deal with them.

I’ve had to reach out to AmEx via chat several times for wireless credits not posting, After the chat, they post a manual credit, though the last one hit a couple days later as CREDIT FOR AMEX ERROR for $10.62.

Odd that they are sending credits by check, though I’ll check my my to see if one comes in.

Last week I received a $42.80 credit on my business platinum for “Amex error”
Closed a second business platinum about 2 weeks ago, I wonder if they combined the credits from each card? Are people getting separate credits/checks for each business platinum?

Received separate checks for separate cards. One card was closed a while back.

This is not just for google fi because I got 5 checks in varying amounts up to $50ish range across P1 and P2 and we’ve never spent money on google fi.
