Our Verdict
Not as good as the recent 70% transfer bonus. I personally find Chase UR points to be far more valuable than Marriott so even with these transfer bonuses I don’t think it’s worth considering unless you only need a small amount of points to top up for an award.  You can see a full list of previous Chase transfer bonuses by clicking here.
The last time I transferred Chase UR points to Marriott, it was for a Cat 8 Marriott redemption which gave me about 3.2 cents per point. So while it is rare, I do appreciate these transfer bonuses from time to time and know that they can provide value to some.
It depends on your situation. I actually transferred a bunch (300k) on the 70% offer. Sure you get less value than airline miles, but it’s harder to obtain hotel point currency in abundance. Other than Hyatt, this is the only thing that comes close to getting a decent return,
Since the Hyatt footprint is small, I need other free night options. With the ability to get close to a penny per point in some locations I frequent, at 70% it’s a decent enough value (nearly 1.7 c/p). Especially with the fifth night, free.
I detest paying for hotels or flights and I avoid it. If you are rich in airline miles but poor in hotel points, this makes sense to me….even at 50%.
Unlike airlines which give you a bit extra value per mile after transfer, anywhere from 10 to 100%, Marriott transfer is a point reduction since each Marriott point is worth less than 1 cent…I think like $0.0088/point.
