Futurecard has added it’s first transfer partner in Amtrak with a 1:1 transfer rate. You do need to transfer a minimum of 5,000 points at a time. Normally points are worth 1¢ each, Amtrak points are normally worth more than 1 a point so could be useful for some people. For hose unfamiliar the Future card earns at the following rates:
- Trains, buses, subway, metro, light rail & commuter rail
- Online marketplaces for gently-used clothing & thrift stores
- Electric vehicle charging
- Bike shops (bikes, ebikes, cycling accessories and repairs)
- Electric scooters, mopeds and bikeshares
They also frequently have 100% back deals on different metro programs. Our full review here.

Futurecard is useful for NYC subway. Meanwhile, NYC Mayor may not have a future. Who’s going to hire him after this? He went to church today. He would need a lot of thoughts and prayers
I think there is a line missing in the article. It says “earns at the following rates” but then never says the actual rate. Just the categories? (is it 3x on those? 2x?)
Wow. Now I regret redeeming all those points. Amtrak points are useful and valuable. Nice to see these points appreciate in value.
A lot of their promos pay back in climatepoints, so you may be able to use them for these transfer partners instead. Interesting to see if they add anything else
