Couldn’t validate my identity with the online application or a phone call, even though I have two C1 credit cards and have had numerous C1 bank accounts. Was told to go into a branch with my social security card. No thanks.

They asked about my online logins from other states and countries, including identifying every jurisdiction from which I’ve logged in during the last two months. I told them I live and work in multiple states and often use a VPN so would have no idea which servers are used on any given day, especially over a two month period.

Can’t wait to get rejected like last year!

There was a $350 promotion that started in August 2023 that was quite popular and has nearly 1,600 comments. If you’re like me and did that one, you can’t churn yet.

I won’t close now to churn. It’s a useful no fee checking I keep permanently.

I have three credit cards with them (plus a 360 Savings), and my checking account was approved immediately, as always in the past.

Applied yesterday as soon as I noticed the bonus had increased (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/capital-one-250-checking-bonus-2/#comment-1950420), and the account was approved immediately. A really easy $300!

Finally become eligible and they denied me because of the number of accounts open in the last two years.

Damn, thought this would be a slam dunk. “We declined your application because your Early Warning deposit score is 668 (on a scale of 495-1000), which we consider to be a higher-risk score.”

What does that mean

If you’re on DoC it usually means you’ve opened a lot of accounts and they don’t want you to open one just for the bonus.

I don’t normally receive any reason so that’s fascinating. I hate scales that start at random numbers though. Why not 0-505?

Will this help with approvals for credit cards? Tried the pre-approval tool and it said I was not going to get approved for any of their cards. Mainly looking at Venture X / Venture X Biz.

It does not.
