The $500 checking and savings offers from Chase are typically targeted or available for purchase on eBay. There’s now a banner link that’s working to get this offer for anyone. We don’t know how long it will last. You don’t need to complete the offer right now, but go ahead and click the link and get the coupon now, so you’ll have it to use before July 15 when the coupon expires.
[We reported two weeks ago about a $500 business offer; this offer is something different for a personal checking and savings account. You can do both the personal and business offers.]

Avoiding Fees

The Chase Savings Account comes with a monthly service fee of $5. Monthly fee is waived with any of the following:
- Keep a minimum daily balance of $300 or more.
- Have at least one repeating automatic transfer from your Chase checking account of $25 or more. One time transfers do not qualify.
- Have a linked Chase Premier Plus Checking, Chase Premier Platinum Checking, or Chase Private Client Checking account.
Checking Account
The Chase Total Checking account comes with a monthly service fee of $10-$12 which is waived if complete any of the following:
- Have monthly direct deposits totaling $500 or more
- Keep a minimum daily balance of $1,500 or more in the checking account
- Keep an average daily balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of qualifying Chase checking, savings and other balances
Early Account Termination Fee
If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.
Our Verdict
With these e-mail coupon bonuses, there is only a certain amount of them before they run out – if you’re thinking of doing this deal I’d recommend acting quickly to get the coupon. You’ll then have until July 15 to get to a Chase branch.
Here’s how to go about getting this $500 offer:
- Bring the coupon to a local Chase branch and open a Savings and Checking account.
- Deposit $25 into the checking and $15,000 into the Savings.
- Get a direct deposit to the Chase checking account. See what has counted for direct deposit in the past here.
- Wait until the Tuesday after completing the requirements for the bonus to post. (Chase is weird and always posts the bonuses on a Tuesday). If you don’t receive the bonus, use another direct deposit to try and trigger it.
- Wait 90 days from the date of deposit and transfer $1,500 from the savings to the checking account. Then transfer $13,200 to your regular high-interest savings account. Be sure to leave $300 in the savings account to keep it fee-free.
- Wait until 6 months after the opening date.
- Withdraw all funds & close the accounts.
Chase bank bonuses are one of the best bank bonus there is. There is no minimum on the direct deposit requirement, it’s easy to keep the account fee free and the bonuses are massive as well. If you’ve never completed a bank bonus before, this is the one to get your feet wet with. We’ll be adding this bonus into our list of Best Bank Bonuses while it’s available.
It’s interesting to note is that the above link is capable of generating multiple unique coupon codes to the same Chase account. So if you want to save a second code for a friend, just log out and click the link again to get a second unique code.
Another interesting thing is that we had a similar publicly available offer one year ago exactly, and both have the same expiration date of July 15. Seems like an annual summer marketing campaign.
Best case scenario
Here’s the best case scenario for your imagination: You go into a Chase branch with this $500 coupon and the $500 business coupon (the business coupon expires soon – June 10). While you are there opening the bank accounts, the Chase banker tells you that you were targeted for an INK 70k offer (this happened to a DoC reader) and a CSP 50k offer, both with annual fees waived the first year. Since these credit card offers were pre-qualified offers, you get approved for them past 5/24.
Half hour later, you waltz out of Chase $1,000 and 120,000 UR points richer.
Likely? Maybe not. But we can always hope. 🙂

Does Chase QuickPay trigger a DD for the Chase Checking?
Is it safe to transfer out the $15000 from saving once the $200 bonus is posted and 90 day passed? (Sure, I will have the monthly auto-transfer of $25 from checking to saving set up to avoid the monthly fee ).
Anyone can share how soon they get the $200 from their saving account. I have been keeping $15000 in my saving account for more than 90 days, but I have yet to see the $200 bonus. On the other hand, I got the $300 checking account bonus within a week when I have my first DD happened.
Any idea?
Thanks.
Just checked the terms – after completing the terms ($15,000 for 90 days), bonus will be deposited within 10 business days.
Looks like the Checking + Savings offer link is gone for now. I was able to print mine earlier today, but the expiration date on that was July 15, 2016. They opened the account and said they would get it approved with their manager if I cannot find the right coupon.
Yeah, I’ve added Expired to the title.
I opened both accounts with Chase recently, but had some trouble with the $15,000 in funds making it to the savings account in time. If I close just the savings account, I should still be able to get the bonus for the checking account, right?
Yes. The same thing happened to me a couple years ago.
Checking bonus came in fine.
I did a $100 DD from my Serve to the Checking account on 7/13 and received the $300 bonus today.
I did a $15,000 ACH from my Ally account to Chase Savings on 7/13 and did not receive the bonus.
Any ideas why?
It says you have to maintain the $15,000 bonus for 90 days. I’m guessing they won’t give you the bonus until after that.
Isn’t the bonus due 10 business days after meeting requirements?
And if your balance dips below $15000 within 90 days, you forfeit
the bonus.
I done the savings bonus before (back in 2014). The bonus wasn’t posted until 90 days after a balance of $15,000 was maintained in the account.
Yay! We did it!
We went today and opened 3 Chase checking accounts: one for myself, one for my husband, and one for our 19 yr old son. We all have Capital One 360 accounts which should make the dd easier. Unfortunately, CO requires a little “test” deposit into a new account that we must validate before they will let us transfer into Chase. We’ll probably miss this Tuesday’s bonus but maybe if we can get it in before the end of business on Monday it will work. I wonder if the little test deposits will trigger the bonus.
Hubby and I were both offered the Chase Sapphire Preferred card with a $500 bonus (in miles) if we spend $4000 in 3 months. AF of $95 waived the first year.
Yep, we’re suckers.
The CSP card bonus is more valuable than the $500 cashback. Do some research and get more bang for your buck
What do you mean by $500 cash back? The CSP card bonus is given via reward points/miles (whatever their terminology). No credit to our cc bill if that’s what you mean.
We just received the cards and it’s taking a lot of my free time just juggling 7 additional checking accounts between me, hubby & our 19 yr old son trying to satisfy bonus requirements and monthly fees waived. Whew!
Once the dust settles and we start using the new card I will research more about the CSP rewards and how to best utilize them. We’ve had their SWA card for years which I love but I’m willing to give CSP a chance.
BTW, our Chase checking bonuses posted today. 8 days after our dd from Cap One 360 and on a Tuesday, just as others said it would.
Thanks!!
ACH transfer from PenFed to Chase checking counted as DD for bonus.
Transfer from Santander counted as DD. Bonus posted this morning.
