A few days ago a reader alerted me to the fact that the Wells Fargo Propel World Card was no longer listed on the Wells Fargo website. The application link redirects to their general credit card page, I reached out to readers to see if they could find a working link but nobody was able to (Wells Fargo Twitter team wasn’t very helpful, either).
I also reached out to their formal media team and they had this to say:
The card is still available – if someone wants to apply in the interim, they can visit a Wells Fargo store.
Natalie M. Brown, APR
Vice President, Consumer Lending Communications
Update: Reader VRHunter was also able to apply via the phone.
What’s interesting is that in the ‘leaked’ PDF that showed the new Wells Fargo Cash Wise credit card, the Propel World card is listed under ‘Affluent and High Net Worth’, alongside other cards that are by invitation only. There is a chance that they plan to transition this card to invite only as well and that’s why it was removed from the Wells Fargo website. There is also a chance they are making other changes/no changes at all and it’ll return soon.
The card itself is pretty good in the first year with a sign up bonus of 40,000 points (worth $400, one of the best cash sign up bonuses) and $100 in airline incidentals annually. It does come with an annual fee of $175, so doesn’t make a lot of sense to keep long term. Might be worth picking up if you haven’t already, especially if you combine it with the Wells Fargo $100 checking bonus that also requires an in branch sign up.
Let me know your thoughts/theories on what is happening with this card in the comments.
This card is still available for online applications but with a reduced bonus of 20,000 points.

Sorry, my mistake.
They are different cards with a “World” of difference. 😉
Can you get a second card while still having the first? Mine was opened in January.
I get 4.5% on travel n dining w the bottom right; nobody seems to know about how awesome the card is.
What card are you talking about? Can you give us some more details about the card so we can review it fully? Thank-you.
@Marky Mark @YH
Does it show clearly the 40,000 point signup bonus on the application?
It shows the 40k on the second page. If you follow MarkyMark’s link and just click continue without filling in login info, it’ll go to page 2 where it shows the offer details.
I see now, thanks
Bam, found the link. Instant approval.

Reverse engineered the prodCode from their other products. I was prepared to guess from AA-ZZ. First try worked. LMFAO.
Instant Approval as well! Thanks for finding the link!
All cards are. 1:1 redemption for everything except. By. Invitation visa which is 1:1 except airfare is 1.5:1
What is the card in the bottom left of the picture? Looks like it says “Wells Fargo Bank by private invitation” but not sure.

Propel World is now showing up here along with the Wells Fargo Advisors By Invitation and Wells Fargo Advisors Premium Rewards.
I believe someone did find a working link when u reached out to ur readers. Here is the adress. I didn’t apply for the card but seems to be working
https://apply.wellsfargo.com/creditcard?execution=e1s2&page=OSMA_APPL_MAIN_PAGE&token=O9i3YcrMx3byqS-_H4sLx5aOk_pMUfQV
Times out for me, only working link was through a cached page and I believe that errors out when you try to submit the application.
I don’t have a Wells Fargo branch near me, but I was able to apply for the card just now over the phone. The rep confirmed the 40,000 point signup bonus with the $175 fee waived the first year so I’m confident it was the Propel *World* card rather than one of the other Propel cards.
Thanks, VRHunter. Will add that to the post.
WF have very lackluster credit card offering. I was denied few years ago for lack of relation and credit history with them. I tried to recon, the rep was rude and basically think I’m crazy.
