Our Verdict
Similar offer was sent out last year in March, this is the highest bonus we’ve seen on this card before. Standard offer is 25,000 miles, but almost always available at 50,000 miles. Remember that the Chase 5/24 rules apply to the Southwest cards now, although it’s possible that targeted offers like this are excluded (share your data points in the comments below). Southwest points are worth a maximum of 1.39¢ towards fares (the actual redemption rate is higher because you only pay the security fee and no other taxes). People get the most value out of the Southwest cards by getting two and counting them towards the companion pass, although this is significantly more difficult after the 5/24 rules.
As always, before apply or asking basic questions I’d recommend you read up on these things you should know about Chase credit cards.
I have a Premier and Plus card that I was applied/approved for on October 27, giving me until Jan 25 2017 to hit my spend bonuses. I plan to hit my $2,000 spend on each to get 50,000 bonus points from each to hit in 2017 so I can get the companion pass early in the year.
My statement for December 2016 closes on the 16th. If I hit the spend of $2,000 for each card on Dec. 20th, will the bonus points from this post before 2016 ends, or will they post on my next statement date of Jan 16 2017, therefore making my accrual of points in 2017 equal 104,000 from my bonuses and associated spending?
The Chase Rep I spoke with today said to hit the spend after the 1st of Jan 2017 to be safe, but I wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this experience or can speak to how quickly the points have posted for them?
Received the 50k, $50 statement credit invitation offer. Applied a few days ago and got denied for too many credit cards.
I got this offer (50k miles + $100 statement credit) and I accidentally deleted it and cannot recover it. Ugh. Do you know if Chase (or Southwest?) would be able to resend the offer (gmail won’t help recover unless the account was compromised)? I remember reading offer expires 7/23, so am hoping to take advantage of this offer before then. Any insight about how to “recover” this offer would be much appreciated.
Give Chase/Southwest a call is your best bet.
Got the standard 50k less than a month ago. Wonder if they match offer and give me $100
Always worth asking with Chase.
I asked and they asked for the invitation number. Oh well. At least they matched the in branch ink offer, and who knows, I may still get an email offer!
I got a 50k + $50 offer. I have zero SW points and have never had this card before. I am well over 5/24. So you’re saying it’s possible I could get this card?
That is THE question, Randy. I am in the same boat….got the 50k + $50 offer via email (complete with my own custom invitation code). I’m way over 5/24 and not sure whether or not to risk the credit inquiry only to find out they will still reject it due to 5/24. No one knows how it will play out. Hopefully others will post their individual data points here one way or the other.
Someone on SD got 70K offer for business card today
Thanks, will post shortly.
Got a 50K + $50 offer today.
Interesting, whats your points balance like? I got 50k + $100 on an account with no points. Didn’t get it on main account.
767 earned in the past couple of month, 0 prior to that.
I also got a 50k + $50 offer. 700 points balance from last few months, nothing previously as well.
