Yes, this started about a month ago for the majority of people apparently. Not nice.

Are you in footprint, or have a relationship with U.S. Bank? If not, you need to open a CD or CC with them.

I have a business CC and got denied when I used personal email. Applied a few days later with same info but used my business email and got approved.

TTCU doesn’t appear to be Chex sensitive.

Opened account on 7/22/2024 and no inquiry from TTCU on my CHEX report.

Something that JUST occurred to me today that I don’t think I’ve ever seen mentioned on DoC: you can check if/when a bank pulled your report without requesting a copy by going to the Dispute section->”Inquiries Viewed By Others” and looking at what’s listed there.

Don’t know if it really matters, because you can pull the report pretty frequently, but it does feel like a slightly less cumbersome option

Yeah, it is a convenient approach, but it does not apply to everyone. Some of us, including me, mothman69 and a few others, could not access that Dispute section.

What do you mean, you can’t access it? They don’t let you submit disputes?

We can still submit disputes, just not in the Chex portal since we could not access that Dispute section in our accounts. We can fill out the online dispute form on the Chex website as a guest.

Huh. And it’s not a browser issue? My first thought was that that feature’d been revoked for submitting too many disputes, but guess not if it was from day 1 for you

Definitely not a browser issue, as I already tested it on different browsers to no avail. snailrock

Agreed. Been using it for years now. It would be really nice if Chex would fix the sort order, but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. snailrock

But, as Shawn says, some people have issues accessing that Dispute page at all.

I applied for an account and was initially approved and had the online banking going and everything, then the bank closed the account with a denial letter due to Chexsystems. Can I dispute that on my chex report? They’re also giving me a hard time trying to get my deposit I made back. This is Meriwest Credit Union

You can try to dispute it, yes. Technically, it’s a valid inquiry. You applied, and they looked at your Chex, and they changed their mind. They aren’t required to stick with their decision. It’s not really any different than denying the application instantly. You permitted them to pull your Chex. Starry

However, I have had mixed results getting inquiries removed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Asking to have it moved to your “Inquiries Viewed Only by You” seems to have a slightly higher level of success.

I have some ideas at the link below for what you can put in your dispute, but I have never had a 100% sure thing for the actions that take place (removal denial, removal, or moving). You should use your own words.

As for getting a hard time about your deposit being returned, you can submit an NCUA complaint, and they will forward it to the appropriate state banking commission if it’s not a federal CU.

Just declined for Citi checking. 809 FICO, but I have a lot of bank accounts bc I play the bonus game. Must not have liked my Chex.

Not necessarily. What did the rejection message say? If it didn’t say Chex, it could have been any number of reasons. Gs1s
