Our Verdict
It’s no longer possible to put high spend through only the 5% categories on the first six month cards, but a $150 sign up bonus makes them more attractive even if you can’t put a lot of spend through them. $150 isn’t one of the highest cash bonuses, but it also isn’t one of the worst. These cards could make sense for some.
I’m sure you’ll have questions about Wells Fargo credit cards, just make sure you read this post first to see if any of those questions are answered.

Applied for the Cash Wise credit card on a Saturday, and the card arrived the following Friday. Only given a $3500 credit line, but should get $150 bonus after $1k spend in 3 months.
I have a WF normal credit card, no fee but without any cash back or reward. That’s my first CC so I don’t want to cancel. Is there any chance I can ask for an upgrade to this CC? Moreover, is it possible that the upgrade comes with sign up bonus?
Also, has anyone ever gotten Wells Fargo to match a bonus within the three month period?
Was there ever a definitive “too much” that got people shut down or any other pattern?
Looked through the FAQ you linked but didn’t see this. If you’ve had other cards (say, Propel) is there a restriction on getting the bonus from one of these?
Also, credit reallocation is a hard pull. Any reason that lowering credit limits on existing cards would be a pull? Have 8k and 11k with them, thinking of lowering to 2k each to try and get a high CL on a 5% WF card.
