A reader  let me know they received the following mail out from Discover:
It seems that this is targeted towards people that are having their card replaced automatically (due to either getting an EMV chip compatible card or their old card simply expiring). Cash back match basically means that after one year you receive the amount of rewards you received in the previous year again (e.g making it so 5% categories actually earn 10%. 5% now and another 5% at the end of the cash back match period).
Might be worth seeing if you can call in and get this promotion added to any Discover cards that haven’t had this promotion before, let me know if that works in the comments.
