The Offer
I received an email from Giftcardmall about a promotion they are running:
- Get $3 off the purchase of a Visa gift card with promo code: SWEET17
The Fine Print
- Valid 10/21/17 – 10/26/17
- Valid on physical Visa gift cards only; virtual products and all other Store and eGift Cards are not a part of this promotion
- Quantities are limited and the offer is only available while supplies last
Our Verdict
The activation cost is $5.95, after the $3 discount it’s down to just $2.95. Go through a shopping portal for an additional 1% back on Visa gift cards. I see 1% back at Topcashback, Mrrebates, Givingassistant, and more (if you’re new to these portals, our appreciation if you sign up using our referral links). Hopefully the portal will stack with the promo code (sounds like it could work). There is a shipping fee of around $10 for high-dollar orders; lower amounts have a free shipping option.
If all works out, it’ll cost around$498 for a $500 Visa gift card, an excellent deal.
I’ve never once got an order through with Giftcardmall, I don’t even try at this point. For those who can, and have a way to liquidate these, this can be useful for meeting a spend threshold and the like. Check out payment options in our Payments Workshop.
Any one recently having issues placing order with Giftcarmall.com?
I have placed orders successfully till last month and suddenly this month, website is giving issues. Despite trying different Browsers and different CC’s, error keeps coming when trying to purchase saying ‘Order cannot be processed, transaction declined, could be credit card issue’
Called their customer service and they said they have been getting calls about the same… But no solution offered by them.
What to do here?
The purchase was tracked but TCB pulled back the rebate when I found out yesterday. So pls remember to double check yours.
got the $3 plus the order (for a customer vgc) tracked just fine…. (and at double the conventional rate)
“custom” — sigh. (referring to the visa cards you upload your own photos. they take an extra day or two to process — but the tcb payout so worth the slight wait.)
Is the code extended? I saw a post on FT today and want to know if others succeeded with the code after the 26th?
DP: my orders using ebates and TCB tracked done before the 26th.
Just placed an order…TCB tracked fine…so let’s see! 1st order actually tho hoping to do more on the regular there.
Can the visa gift cards I buy in GCM be used in Wally for MO purchase ?
Ebates tracked just fine.. First time ordered, no cancellation so far.. Thanks DoC
I was previously blacklisted. Recently moved to a new place, new phone number, new email address. Order went through. TCB tracked and used promo code.
d.p—order confirmation was sent immediately after my order, no updates since that email from giftcardmall regarding shipment, tcb did track 2 days after purchase, any ideas on how long it takes for them to get shipped out?
GCM/BHN is such a joke. The site keeps failing to place the order even though the charges do manage to get through to my CC (eating up my available CL, no biggie yet). “Not compatible with Apple. ” is what their cust serv says, which reminds me of a post on this site mentioning the Apple/Safari issue with GCM. Still not working though, after trying their recommended browser Firefox, even with User Agent spoofing as Windows 10. Every time I switch to a new browser or device, it fails my login on the first try and locks my account on the second, requiring yet another call to cust serv. There’s also supposedly some concern aboiut the non-US origin of my account email addr. Seriously?! Someone in Antarctica could register a “.com” domain, but that doesn’t make it US-based.
According to my latest account-unlock conversation, GCM would only work with Firefox on Windows. No other OS or phone/tablet is recommended. I wonder what kind of “security” (cough, malware, cough) Microsoft lets vendor sites like GCM plant on Windows. WTF?
Paz — re. Fireforx, that actually matches guidance I’ve heard now from half dozen different gcm reps…. though one kept insisting that the problem is not Chrome. But for me, every time I forget and use Chrome, the order fails. If I wait a few days, and try Firefox, it works perfectly. (and I get my 2% cb to boot)
