The website iheartriteaid.com got hold of a memo being sent out to Rite Aid employees indicating that loyalty deals at Rite Aid will transition from earning Plenti points to earning ‘wellness+ Bonuscash’ beginning December 31, 2017. The memo is clear that Rite Aid will continue to be a Plenti partner into, and thus it will still be possible to redeem Plenti points at Rite Aid.Â
The memo isn’t 100% clear that there won’t be any opportunity to earn Plenti points at Rite Aid, but the implication seems to be that all deals will transition from earning Plenti points to earning wellness+ Bonuscash points.
Presumably all of the weekly Plenti gift card deals will transition to the new program as well. These new Rite Aid points are less enticing than Plenti points since redemption will be limited to Rite Aid itself, not Exxon, Macy’s, etc.
It’s become increasingly clear that the Plenti program is on it’s way out the door; they’re discontinuing the Plenti credit card, many partners are leaving completely at the end of 2017, and now Rite Aid is transitioning their loyalty program away from Plenti as well.
