Our Verdict
Standard bonus on this card is $150. You’d need to spend $10,000 on this card to make up the difference of no sign up bonus, even more when you compare it to a 2% cash back card. The great thing about this offer is that this card actually earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points and as long as you have a premium Chase card (Chase Sapphire Preferred, Reserve or Ink Preferred) then you can transfer the points to travel partners. 3x flexible points on all purchases is absolutely insane, even if it is only for the first year. The other thing to keep in mind is that with the Chase Sapphire Preferred points are worth 1.25¢ when redeeming them via the Chase travel portal and you get 1.5¢ in value if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Discover it Miles also offers the same bonus, but the points can’t be transferred to travel partners.
Unfortunately most of the people that would be best able to take advantage of this offer won’t be eligible due to the Chase 5/24 rule. Read these things everybody should know about Chase cards here.

BAIT & SWITCH Hello There, I just wanted to share probably a bait and switch that I experienced with this 3% card from chase. I used the link provided here on DOC to apply for the 3% card, the application was not approved immediately, I called Chase and ask why, they said that my address was not “real” ( I use the post office as my home address, never had any issue with any other credit cards or bills before, it appears as a regular address, not a POBOX) the person told me that i need it to send them a copy of a state ID with my physical address or just take it to a branch so they can fax it to their department. Same day, i visited a Chase branch and I talked to one of their representatives and she helped me send a copy of my ID that shows my home address, while on the phone with the person reviewing my ID I asked the CS representative to tell them to make sure is the 3% card that I’am applying for and the person on the phone acknowledge that it was indeed for that offer. They said that it will take a couple of hours for them to review it, a few hours later, i was on the phone with chase again and they had approved the card, when I asked if it was the 3% the representative said that she couldn’t see which one it was, i was like “…” ??? she said that it should be the one that I originally apply. I asked her to expedite the card and she said no problem. Well when i received the card i got the 1.5% card not the 3%, i call them right away, got the call escalated and the guy assured me that they will change it to the 3% which i originally apply for and it will reflect the changes in 7 days, so i was happy and went ahead and start using my card. Surprisingly my account still shows 1.5 % for purchases, so I called CHASE again and now they said that they are not going to change it because they no longer offer the promotion, and it was a targeted promotion, (more BS) Explained to the agent, that i applied for the card when the promotion was available, and i was told that i would be changed in 7 days to the 3% during my last conversation and that it would be great if she could listen to the recorded phone call to verify this, ( I just don’t understand why would CHASE send me a 1.5 % credit card which i didn’t apply for) that is why i went ahead and used the card, otherwise i wouldn’t even had ask them to mail the card if i knew they were going to send me a 1.5% which they lied when I asked them about it. At that moment I would… Read more »
Does anyone have a screenshot for the 3% offer? I would like to save it in case there are “issues” but I think I neglected to save when we applied (took a while to get my SO approved)
Doc/Will – if you have any contacts in the game with a 3% cashback would love to apply if it’s not dead. Thanks for all that you do.
offer is dead now
The direct link takes me to the standard $150 bonus. Is this offer dead?
Link is also taking me to the standard $150 bonus as of today. Maybe the offer is dead. Anyone else?
I went for it! (I hope DOC gets a referral via the link – I want to support you!) Just bought my first home and seems like the perfect promo for my situation (0% APR for 15 months & 3% cashback first year). Feels so great to be back in the credit card game after freezing it all for the homebuying process.
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the support but we don’t use referral or affiliate credit card links to remain unbiased.
AU Authorized User whats the best way to go about this? Any information on what they require or just a name? Thanks!
It was first name, last name, and a checkbox to say ‘same address’
No one has mentioned that this card has a 0% APR for the first 15 months.
I’ll pass because I have the BoA Travel/Premium Rewards at 2.625%. Signup bonuses would work better and if I need more UR for a specific case I would just heavy hit one of those office supply deals or apply for CSR/CSP (my transfer card is the since discontinued Ink Plus).
well, its not just that. anyone would be stupid to go ape shit on 3x UR at this stage in the game. chase knows everything. nobody should be dicking around with chase. esp on an obvious bank points card like FU. not cobrand. 3x UR would be amazing for resellers tho.
I called Chase about this and they said this offer is not currently available. They seemed to think that it never was?????
My SO was just approved for the card. Secured message also confirmed the 3% offer.
Don’t call Chase. Use the link at the top of the page to apply.
