Our Verdict
Standard bonus is $100, it’s frequently increased to $150 and then occasionally goes up to $200 like we see here. I don’t think signing up for this card makes a lot of sense due to the fact Capital One pulls all three credit bureaus. In addition you can get a bonus of 50,000 points on the Venture card (or up to 100,000 via targeted offers) and the business card has a $1,000 bonus as well. Some people like having a Quicksilver card as they offer various promotions such as: Uber, Spotify and the current hotels.com deal. I’d say you’re better off still getting the Venture and then product changing it to this card instead.

Back up to $200 (like the original post says). According to customer service, their system does not show whether a previous account holder is eligible for the bonus, no matter how long it has been since the old card was closed, until a new account has been generated (application approved).
anywhere to post referral links? I’m showing $150 referral for referER for anyone that gets approved.

The Quicksilver card has some offers on card, one of them shows upto $160 back on purchases at xfinity, but the language is not very clear what kind of purchases qualify , says for new members only.
I would like to know if any existing xfinity customers used this offer & got cash back from CapitalOne ?

Hmm
CapOne are definitely stingy with their credit card approvals. I got the QS years ago before I started researching better cards, then I also signed up for 360 Checking. Didn’t help me get a Venture when I applied a couple of years ago, though. (I have an excellent credit history, which they seem to dislike.)
Now I find the QS mostly useless, and I put almost no spend on it, which resulted in their lowering my limit.
But the 360 Checking is indispensable to me, not for checking, but for overseas travel. I transfer some money in before a trip, then use it at ATMs in Europe with no FTF. Winning….
Received my Capital one card in the mail… It’s actually a “World Elite” card?! The included pamphlet says “Your guide to World Elite MasterCard benefits.” I am VERY confused. I definitely applied for the Quicksilver card in the promotion link posted here. What should I do?
World Elite is just a categorization by MasterCard, typically based on your credit limit. It gives you the aforementioned additional benefits, on top of the Quicksilver benefits from C1. You got what you applied, and a bit more 🙂
753 credit score, still declined.
6/12 lol maybe.
At this point, its probably more likely to be struck by lightning than being approved.
Bonus is increased to $250 now after spending $500.
It’s bizarre hearing how people get declined while seeming to have a pretty good CR. On top of that many frown upon it because it checks all 3 bureaus. Somehow, someway I got one while my credit took a hit from a bad divorce where I was forced to file bankruptcy. I think my CR was somewhere around 660 at the time and I was approved for $11k. I’m not an expert on this stuff so I have to wonder what other variable is in the mix that got me approved while others aren’t.
Quicksilver was great. I used it a lot a few years ago but now with so many better options its been sock drawered for a while now. I am hoping they up it to 2.5% cash back on all purchases to really shake things up a bit.
have 800+ fico score. got declined . getting a letter telling me why. sigh.
dont feel bad. CapOne is ridiculous with approvals. they don’t want credit worthy people…or responsible people…or people that even pay their bills
