Our Verdict
You can actually come out ahead by reselling these (current public rates are 80% of face value), only an extra $1 per card but might be more worth it for those access to better rates or if you have a lot of Discover rewards to use up.
Hat tip to DDG
this seems to no longer be available
I’ll update as expired, thanks.
I’m still in my first year. Will the 5 dollar savings be doubled or not?
The rewards you earn are doubled, doesn’t matter how you redeem them. So if you did this deal you’d get $15 doubled (the amount you earned). Doing this deal has no impact at all
good deal got my 1 year anniversey match coming up, will see if this is still around later in the month
Looks like these are physical cards, no egiftcards. Makes reselling a bigger pain.
What’s the difference? Don’t you just need the code?
Yes, but you have to peel off the pin, hand type that into the spread sheet, save all the physical cards in case of fraud, etc.. At $20 each, I was about to order 17 of these, but then decided it would be too big of a pain.. And I can resell at 86%. If they had larger denominations it would have made more sense. I may still bite, but I know I’ll regret it as soon as the stack arrives.
86%? Are you in a private group?
Shame I dont stockpile the CB
I have $13K in Discover CB. Waiting for the elusive deal like a few years back when they had Hyundai or Kia GCs at half off. They also took away the car rental coupons that were a great deal 🙁
If you could max that out you might be able to net an extra 10%, an extra $1100-1300 or so on an exchange. Would take 650 Nike gcs to do it which might kill the deal out on its own. Would take a solid 4-6hrs of hard focused labour to get em listed and you wouldn’t see your payday for awhile.
So as always the eternal question is: how bad do you want that next Hyundai?
I was able to redeem more than 10 gift cards in one order.
Thanks, let me remove that
