Our Verdict

These cards function as Visa gift cards, but only work at the specified merchants. We wrote about this ‘Happy’ gift card line in a dedicated post, as well as which stores each card works at.

This is an excellent sale since all the available Happy cards are on sale, and anyone who shops at one of these merchants can get a 16.66% discount there by purchasing the cards. Remember to go through a shopping portal, Yazing is offering 5%.

There’s also a similar deal from Safeway to get 10-15% off various Happy cards.

I bought the Happy Lady and was able to use on $50 Visa GC at BB&B-covered the 4.95 fee and a little extra to buy stuff around the house. $60 is a weird increment. This is in Hawaii-the BB&B here only have iTunes and VGC. I bought a bunch of $50 VGC, used Citi ATT More Access with rentention bonus points for 3-5 points per dollar and stacked with Yazing CB. I also got fun stuff for the house-that was free. This promo worked well for me.

Anyone know how many of these you can stack with a Dell purchase online? I want to get a dell laptop, so if i buy 20 GCs at 50, Id pya 1000$ but get 200$ off. Not sure how many gift cards can be used to buy a laptop though.

Dell only allows for 3 different payment methods per order. So unless you can consolidate into actual Dell gift cards somehow, your order total including tax would have to be a max of $180.

Do you know if Happy Teen card works at nike.com? Also to combine a few, can I just buy some Nike gift cards?

One thing i noticed taking advantage of the Stop & Shop deal is that Happy Beauty includes LA Fitness. You can prepay your membership fees online in any amounts. So this is a good way to get discounts on gym memberships, assuming your an LA Fitness member.

Does anybody know if these will (usually) auto-drain? I’m wondering if I’ll need to closely track the balance or if the register will be able to deal with it when the balance gets low. (I know it might vary from merchant to merchant.)

They auto-drained at Barnes&Noble and Home Depot, but not at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Any chance you used them on the GoC gift cards?

1%, payout via PayPal at the end of the month for the previous month.
I’ve had only good experience so far.

Thanks. This is basically 21% off of Panera. I went in for $200.

GCM extended the sale, now shows as “Offer valid from 10/05/2018 to 10/18/2018”.

Not as good of a discount as OD/OM thru today 10/13, but easier to buy multiples.

Can you use these to buy other gift cards? Like at Bed bath and beyond or JCPenney?

I would say YES if those stores carry any of the gift cards of interest to you.

I used one of the Happy Lady cards to buy a Disney gift card at BB&B today. It worked with no problem. If the cashier asks how you’re going to pay, just say with credit and don’t show the card.

So you bought a $50 gift card? What did you do with the other $10?

I did the OfficeMAX/Office Depot deal last week. They had the $50 cards for $40. Today, I was also able to use a Happy Guy gift card from last week’s sale to buy a BP gas gift card at Home Depot.

wondering about 2 things:

1) anyone get hacked yet? these cards are 100% exposed. all cc numbers, exp date and cvv code are all clearly shown with no cover. mag stripe just hanging there. since this is not a normal GC and its more like a visa, i expected full cover packaging. this is every hackers dream.

2) always get denied for GC to GC at HD or BBB or wherever. i assume its still YMMV but more on the denial side. any DP here?

I don’t know why I didn’t notice that when I bought a couple yesterday at Jewel. But I don’t think the eats or bites are usable online, are they? I guess I could order via the app for Panera. Not sure how lucrative that would be for a hacker.

many of those dont work for online. Dell should since its explicitly noted. draining GCs are always lucrative for a hacker. happens all the time for uber, ebay, hyatt etc. doesnt have to be online. the GC can be copied. mag stripe is just hanging out.

Or you can buy a gift card in store with the Happy GC for use online if those restaurants have GCs for purchase (which most do) and you can use their GCs online.
