Chase sent out an internal memo to their bankers about a number of branch signup bonus offers which will end on March 18th. (They also mentioned an increased bonus on the Sapphire Preferred which we’ve posted about separately.)
- Freedom Flex and Freedom Unlimited cards bonus will become a flat $200, without the 5% grocery store component.
- Slate card 0% APR goes down from 21 months to 18 months.
- United Explorer card goes down from 65,000 to 60,000. It’s for lower spend, though, so it might be a better offer overall.
- INK business cards go down from $900 to $750. This one we’ve TALKED about. 🙂 Seems it’s changing over in-branch on the 19th versus online on the 21st. Referral links have already changed over.
Presumably we’ll see the online offers mirror the branch and change over sometime in the next couple of weeks as well.
The memo also mentions a targeted offer on the Freedom Unlimited card which will be available for select clients:
- Earn $300 after spending $500 in the first 3 months.
Just came here to say that I just went in-branch for the Slate Edge 18 months 0% APR on purchases and BTs. Combined with the in-branch of NO BT fee for 1st 60 days makes it a killer combo. Chuck , can you add to your List of 0% APR CC offers list? This blows all the other options out of the water.

Thanks, added now
Jumped in for an FU yesterday. Filled out the form. Got a pending notice. Was expecting The Letter. Then the phone rang. They were checking to see if the application was legit due to a Fraud Alert on my file. Once verified, I got the approval a few minutes later.
Blurb mentioned being able to use it right away through a digital wallet (which I don’t have), but that the full limit might not be available. Logged back in to the account and the card showed, but with a measly $500 limit. I’m hoping that gets upped to a reasonable amount once I receive and activate the card.
Needed to do this one first since I was at four cards in two years after getting the CapOne Quicksilver a few weeks back.
I’m curious whether there’s any evidence that the United Explorer, CFU, and CFF changes ever went into effect (in-branch or online). The Ink SUB reduction is apparent, but I’m not finding any indications online that the other card offers were modified.

I just did a google search for ‘Chase Freedom’ and it says “Ending Soon: Earn 5% cash back on grocery store offer” so maybe it’ll end soon. Looks like Slate already lowered to 18 months.
The 5% grocery bons on the Freedom cards is now gone, but United Explorer still stuck at 50K.
The post title is wrong. The old offers are up & presumably good through today, the 19th, so bonuses will be lowered no earlier than 3/20.
I’m assuming in-branch it’s already been lowered. The online offer will probably follow the INK path and change on/after the 21st
Today is Sunday. How many Chase branches are open?
still up today, Monday.
“The online offer will probably follow the INK path and change on/after the 21st”
Today is the 20th.
Today is the 11th … of April. The Chase UA Explorer offer is still 50K.
You were saying?
It’s May 26—two full months later—and the public Explorer offer is still 50K. It’s safe to say the online offer did not follow the INK path. Frey

That’s a significant improvement on the United Explorer (60K vs. 50K for $3K spend). The extra SUB on the current offer (+15K for another $2K in spend, so 65K total for $5K overall) is for suckers or MSers.
My earlier post on referral deep link worked and i got the 90K points (paid taxes). Will keep it handy until it vanishes.
Nice seeing an actual end date to the ink cards. Why the secrecy on all the other blogs?
I think that’s an improvement for the Slate Edge. The Edge currently has a 3% balance transfer fee for introductory transfer so I’d rather have a 0% fee for 18 months than 3% fee for three extra months.
Might apply for it, since $30k in balance transfers for 18 months at current interest rates can be useful. You might even be able to convert it to a Freedom within a few months of opening and keep the 0% balance transfer like I did with the old Slate.
Trying to refer P2 and generated the referral link today but when P2 clicks on the referral link, it says $750 not $900. Any workaround?
Have P2 right-click on the link and open in an incognito window. If that’s not possible, right-click on the link, choose ‘copy link location’ and then paste it in to a blank incognito window.
My referral link used by P2 just a few days ago for the $900 SUB is dead. Generated a new link, the $750 SUB is what’s showing now (I’m working on a $900 SUB for the 4-week-old CIU in my wallet). P2’s recent link is also dead, a new link is showing today. No web browser tricks worked this time for us. IME.
EDIT: P2 called my BRM, the higher offer is indeed still available in-branch. FYI. I didn’t know she called in after hitting the dead link earlier.
