The Offer
- AARP Rewards offers 15% off a $500 Airbnb giftcard. Limit 5 deals can be done each month.
Our Verdict
There’s also a Chase Offer for AARP to get $4 back on a $12 purchase. That should work on these gift cards, but you’ll likely prefer to use the card that gets you the max return. Anyone can join AARP, regardless of age.
Hat tip to GC Galore
Is the deal still available ? I don’t have an AARP membership yet to check
Just to close this out – Deal is dead and only 5% off now
I am new to this. Where can you buy this GC on AARP website?
It is in the rewards section. I believe you need to be an AARP member to see/buy them

I tried to buy 2 this weekend with 5% off and it wouldn’t go through 😔
can I still load Airbnb gift cards to my account for paying second and third months rental ? I already paid first month by credit card, Someone said that the gift cards can only be used for a new stay? Thanks.
Good question. That’s the reason I plan on buying several. From what I have read on the Airbnb website is you can’t use gift cards for CHANGES in a current reservation. Maybe someone will chime in who has used it for monthly payments.
Below are ALL the terms for redeeming an airbnb gift card on any reseration: They don’t separate the type, but just that you can’t apply it as a change, for instance if you change the dates and you need to pay more: FOR USA ONLY
“You must have an Airbnb account in order to claim and redeem a Gift Card; you can claim a Gift Card by visiting http://www.airbnb.com/gift. Upon claiming, the entire Gift Card value will be shown on your Airbnb account as your Gift Card balance. Gift Card balances may only be redeemed toward the purchase of eligible goods and services offered on the Airbnb Platform. Any reservation made with a Gift Card will be deducted from your Gift Card balance, and any unused Gift Card balances will remain on your Airbnb account until used. If a purchase exceeds your existing Gift Card balance, the remaining amount due must be paid with another Payment Method. You can view your Gift Card balance by signing in to your Airbnb account.
No fees of any kind apply to Gift Cards, and Gift Cards and Gift Card balances do not expire. Gift Card balances, however, may be subject to reporting and escheating (sending) to the appropriate governing body as required by applicable unclaimed property laws. These Gift Card Terms remain applicable until your entire Gift Card balance has been spent or escheated”
So that’s the way it used to be handled. But now you CAN pay down your existing reservation with GCs. Just add the gc to your account and manually go in and apply that amount to your reservation.
If you are booking a new reservation for say $1500 and pay half, $750 with GCs, just know it will ask for an additional $375 to be paid by cc and $375 to be paid later. That part is kinda annoying.
As soon as these gift cards are back in stock, I’ll be making regular purchases. I’m and long term guest indefinitely.😁
Thanks for the info. My situation is like this: my son has a summer intern in Seattle, for about 3 months, he is sharing an apartment from Airbnb rental, his roommate used his parent’s Airbnb account and made the first payment by credit card saved in the account, we zelled him half of the first payment. Now the 2nd and third payment will be coming, I would like to pay at least half of the bill using some of the gift cards I bought at discount, but not sure if it is too late to load them for payment. If not possible, I also like to pay using my credit card, as I have to meet the SUB for my newly approved credit card. His roommate wouldn’t share the Airbnb login , so we have no way to use our payment method. I am reluctant to give the gift card info to him, very tricky situation, I think I will give up, just let him pay all payment and zelle him half of the payment and save the gift cards for future usage.
I called Airbnb for help, thinking that I could pay by phone to the bill, but looks like they are not helpful on this.
bummer
Are the 15 percent savings on Airbnb sold out?
Yes.
The largest denomination AirBnB card I am seeing on the site is $250 for $238 or 4% savings. Must be sold out.
I recently joined AARP thru RevU on Swagbucks because it was a moneymaker. I think it’s still open to anyone
The $4 off no longer works on gift cards. Multiple data points and gcgalore noted it, too.
Since when Airbnb’s logo background is black? Are they paying tribute to Juneteenth?
Who cares.
I don’t think the $4 Chase offer works for gift cards purchased through AARP. It’s for membership only, and the gift card purchases show up as AARP Rewards whereas the membership purchase shows up as AARP Membership
Sold out.
I was just about to join
Thanks doc! Got a few. Hope they come back in stock as I can get one more this month
