Update 5/14/24: Negative changes to the rewards program. 3% is capped at $1,500 in spend per month. Anything over that earns 1%. Hat tip to reader Bockrr
Update 4/27/22: This card has been discontinued for new sign ups.
AOD Federal Credit Union of Alabama has a Visa Signature credit card which gives 3% cashback on all purchases and has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Rewards post to your account automatically.
Looks like membership to the credit union is only available to select employment groups within the Alabama area – you can check eligibility here.
This is the perfect card for everyday purchases, though obviously most readers won’t be eligible due to membership limitations.

FYI, I’m trying to lower my credit limit on this card. They are making me send a letter via postal mail to get it done. Plan accordingly if you are trying to manage your credit line for churning/new CC apps
Applied for Aod visa signature and I was approved for 4k limit. They are shipping me the card now.
Looks like its allowing new sign ups now.
Check your latest statement and be sure you got all your cash back. I only got a little more than one point for every dollar. My letter said we should get tthe normal 3% until the end of June but they did not honor it. I will contact them and ask about this.
Fwiw I got all of mine but also only spent $750ish on it last statement.
The said they are going to have accounting team look into it because they could see that it was indeed wrong. Crowdstrike?
I spent a small amount (<$200) and my cash back was incorrect by a few bucks also on my July statement.
My June statement is correct. My statement goes from mid-month to mid-month.
My mistake about Andrews, I was looking at P2s account and miscounted. I guess I was in the mindset that there may be a problem with other accounts.
Same for me. They did not honor 3% until 6/30. Anything over $1500 only earned 1%. Shorted me $31.59 in rewards.
I was shorted by almost $200. Did you complain and get any resolution. I am currently going back and forth with them. Everytime you get a new person they act like they don’t understand and will look into it, but still no resolution for me yet.
I just got my August statement. They made up some of it. I don’t know how they calculated it, but I’m pretty sure it was to correct the mistake. The math ain’t mathing. I’m not gonna pursue this further since the missing cash back is not as big as yours.
No notice yet for me
I just got mine today
Got my notice today. In addition to the limit of 1500 on 3% cash back, it’s now prime rate plus 9.50%. That’s pretty bad considering how low the Apr was. I guess I’ll have to use this one as a limited use card now. It’s a bummer because this card was perfect for anyone charging over 2% fees for using a credit card because I’d get that money back. Now that option is severely limited.
I received a letter in the mail today stating the limitation of 3% rewards on $1500 spend per month (honestly, still not bad) and slightly higher interest rates (not that I care about that..) 🙂
Still have not heard anything from AOD – no letters in the mail, no emails, nothing on the portal. We’ve had the card since 04/2020 with a 5k credit limit.
I haven’t gotten anything either. Also had mine since 2020 and not a heavy user since I’ve been mostly SUB churning the past couple years. I don’t have my hopes up though. There is over a month until it takes effect according to the letter.
05/16 – Still have not received the notice yet. On the MYFICO forums (9 pages) I only see 2 people have gotten it. I’m quite sure this is wishful thinking, but could this only be for some members and not everyone? (Fingers crossed).
Came for more today. I was person that started thread on MF.
RH will replace this option and be open to more people.
I trust RH about as much as a trust a hobo. They have done me wrong before on stopping trading on GME stock and cost me a decent chunk of change. I would rather swallow glass than do business with them ever again
What’s wrong with hobos?
But how long would that last?
Robinhood’s 3% card isn’t fee-free. There’s also a strong chance they slash Gold benefits and/or increase the subscription cost within the next 1-3 years.
