Amazon Dash Wand Support Being Discontinued, YMMV $25 Credit

Amazon used to sell something called the Amazon Dash Wand, this is an Alexa enable device that could be used to easily add Amazon items to your cart. Many readers purchased this wand as you could make a profit or break even by doing so and it could be used for Alexa only deals. Amazon has sent out an e-mail stating:

Beginning July 21st 2020, Dash Wand devices will no longer be supported. You can still use Alexa to add items to your Shopping List, add groceries to your cart, reorder items, and more with any Echo device or use the Alexa feature within the Amazon App and the Alexa App. To help you get started, we are offering you a $25 credit which can be redeemed here. Terms and conditions can be found below.

As you can see it seems like they are also offering a $25 credit for those with an Amazon Dash Wand. I think the link in the e-mail is unique, but it’s possible I am wrong about that (if anybody has a non unique link please share in the comments below). Update: Looks like the credit is YMMV as most people’s e-mail doesn’t mention it.

I got the email with no mention of any credit. I haven’t used it since I got it when it was free.

The credit showed up in your account without doing anything? My email says 25$ credit but I don’t see it

No email here. I can only take this to mean my Dash will be the only one still supported.

I received the email without the credit. I just called Amazon and was given a $15 credit since I hadn’t used it in the last 3 months. I guess the $25 credit was for current users. I don’t think I ever used it.

I Received the credit on 2 separate amazon accounts.. Maybe because my kid uses it regularly to play asking questions to Alexa.. This was also free purchase

I lost mine a very long time ago in my house. If it wasn’t because of this post, i would have completely forgotten of its existence…

Same as everyone else. No $25 credit.

Maybe the few people that actually bought the thing at full price got the credit, but everyone else that got it for basically free don’t get anything?

I used it for a couple Alexa offers but other than that it’s been sitting in a drawer for the past few years. It’s a neat piece of hardware with the barcode scanner and whatnot but I remember a lot of the time it added the wrong item to your cart when you’d scan something with it. Must have cost Amazon a decent chunk of money to design and manufacture too.

No, I got mine free and got the $25 offer. I used mine fairly often, so maybe that was the criteria.

I think I grabbed this when it was basically free with a DoC offer.

It’s magnetic and has a nice rubberized ring on it, if you want something obnoxiously large for a key so you don’t lose it, might be worth keeping
