Amazon Exploring Replacing Chase As Co-branded Credit Card Partner

Amazon currently partners with three credit card issuers to issue co-branded Amazon cards. Chase issues the personal card, American Express issues the business card and Synchrony issues the store card. According to Bloomberg Amazon is looking to replace Chase with either American Express, Synchrony or with a completely new partner.

My Amazon card is my oldest card by far. If this goes through what happens in terms of the age of the account? Does it get backdated to when we opened the account with Chase?

If they end the relationship with Chase, your card would just be a regular Chase card or converted to another of their cards. You would have to apply for the new card if it is with a different bank. I’ve gone through this a few times.

Chase started rolling out random credit limit increases to various card holders. I’ve been seeing the post on myFICO forums. Several are to the tune of $10,000 increases. Chase is up to something

I don’t even spend on my amazon card. I’m only keeping it because it’s my oldest cc.

Amazon is will not choose Amex or synchrony .
Amex is giving Amazon discount in interchange fee for all Amex cards on amazon. Instead of charging Amazon 3%, Amex is offering much lower than 3%. VISA is also offering Amazon a heavy discount on interchange as well, so if Amazon leaves Chase, they could possibly lose out to the huge VISA discount. Obviously Citi is also bidding for it .

Ps. I work for one of the issuers who is bidding for the amazon contract.

What’s the likelihood of Amazon to replace the co-branded Chase card?

Amazon already chose Amex for the Business card which also gets 5% back…

The issuer of the card has never been a factor in Network Discounts. See Walmart, Target, Marriott, et al for network discounts for each network.

Amazon has never — yes, never — paid a 3% swipe fee to AmEx. In fact, almost nobody does. You are just perpetuating the myth that AmEx is more expensive to accept. They weren’t even paying 1.5% and that was before partnering with AmEx for the business card.

Chase: 5/24 —> FUCK YOU!!
Amex: exceeding card limit —> FUCK YOU!!
Synchrony: worst customer service + low CL —> FUCK YOU!!

Please let GS join the bidding!!!!!

What company is ok with a customer exceeding their card limit? No matter what a company says they will flag you internally as someone who a)can’t do math b)doesn’t know how to plan or c)doesn’t care. All three is someone they would rather not have as a customer

idk what you are saying… Chase only cares about the credit limit not exceeding 50% of one’s income, so I can have lots of Chase cards (I have 19 rn) within the threshold.

Maybe Dubya was interpreting it as the card credit limit, not the limit on the number of cards a person holds. That was how I interpreted your rant at first, also.

It would be funny if the new issuer charges FTF to try and get some more ways to make money off the portfolio.

Not allowed. Walmart has been buying politicians to try to make this happen for years. They even teamed up with Costco to try to make it happen.
