Our Verdict

If you don’t have Prime then now is probably the time to at least do the free trial. You have this deal, another $10 deal and Prime day is also on the 11th of next month.

Previously I believe you’ve only been able to get $5 for downloading the app. As always remember to read our complete guide to saving money on Amazon, I’ve added this deal as well.

Has anyone received this $10 credit from a new Prime account? Created a new account with my student email and signed up for Prime Student, did download the app and login for the first time. Have not received anything since 2 days ago.

Correction:
I just checked the direct link
It says “Promotional code expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) August 18, 2017.” (Not July 31 as noted above)
It must be activated by July 31, however.

I just bought my very first smart phone with the AT&T access $650.00 phone credit (thanks for the tip) so I am one of the very few who are still eligible for this offer.

Thank you for your interest in the Amazon app. This program is only for customers without a previous sign-in to the Amazon app. Our records indicate that you have signed in previously and are therefore not eligible.

The amazon app is not new. I have had it for years, as well as prime.

How does this promotion work? Is it a safe assumption that I am not seeing this because i have been using the app for years, and this is ONLY for people who have NEVER used the app before?

Any DP would be appreciated 🙂

Ignore, i tried the link (glossed over it at first) and clearly i am not eligible.

So this mostly apples to people who don’t usually use Amazon.

No, it applies to people who don’t shop on their phones, like me.
