The Fine Print

  • Valid through October 18th

Our Verdict

You’ll pay full price at checkout, and you’ll get the ordinary 5% + bonus 20% back as points/cashback on the card. Really an amazing deal.

Just bear in mind that Amazon has some sensitivity with bulk gift card purchases of certain brands; please share your experiences below with how much they are okay with.

This is part of various other items which Amazon offers special cashback/points for Amazon Prime cardholders (we posted about that here). We’ll add this new gift card deal to our main Prime Day post.

Bastards keep canceling my order and locking my account. Got their stupid CC just for this.

Amazing deal. One data point for those with Xbox Series S/X preorders at Microsoft.com:

I did a chat with a Microsoft help agent who was able to change my payment method for an existing preorder I had from Paypal to my newly funded gift card balance.

Xbox Series S at launch for 25% off, what a deal!

Does the 25% promotion work on the Special Financing Promos feature of the Amazon Prime CC?

No — if you check out, you’ll see that the Prime card will have dropdown options, which looks like you either finance your purchase, or get charged upfront to receive the 25% promotion.

Yes, should be. I haven’t done it myself and have no desire to buy an xbox.

Thanks, any fine print as far as max? I think new one is $500, would hate to go all in and not get back the $125

Yeah, couldn’t you buy $300-500 worth of MS GC at amazon and get the new xbox at 25% discount?

MS gift cards are, these Xbox gift cards (such as at https://smile.amazon.com/Xbox-Gift-Card-Digital-Code/dp/B00F4CFHFC?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER) aren’t: “You can’t use funds in your Microsoft account to purchase physical goods from Microsoft online stores.” and confirmed by a 1-star review.

I don’t see any straight MS gift cards available with the 25% back.

Yes, you absolutely can. I parlayed the Amex Dell credits into Xbox gift cards into a free Series X Xbox

Ive always been confused with the Chase Amazon Prime Rewards card. What is the condition to get 5% on the card?

I canceled my Prime membership but still have the card and assume that I get 3% on Amazon purchases. But what if I use my card to make purchases on my wife’s Prime account?

Nevermind, the link states:
“Be an Amazon Prime Card member with an eligible Prime membership to get extra rewards on select items on top of the every day 5% back for being a Prime card member.”

I would imagine 5% requires the Chase Amazon Prime cardholder’s name to match the name on the Prime account.

It does not. I’ve used my wife’s Prime card on my Mom’s Amazon Prime account and gotten 5% back on purchases. I’ve also used it on our own account and gotten 5% so it’s not even limited to a single account. Keep in mind, though, that if Amazon suspects you have more than one account, they may permanently ban you.

Brandon could get himself added onto his wife’s Amazon Household, though, and just sidestep that completely, unless they’ve already got someone else using the adult slot. https://www.amazon.com/myh/manage

Never seem to get deals on the Prime Business Amex. Looks like I got the wrong card all because I wanted the SUB.

Amazon kept deleting my orders. Confirmed no issue with Chase. Terrible Amazon. Open sales but not taking orders.
