Same here, seem like most who knew that it is at 9am EST where able to get one. I feel like it was live only for 30 seconds, but that is exactly how long it takes to place an order and no website glitches whatsoever during that time. Amazon also seem to have some bot defence on for this deal.
Were you just waiting for it to go live at some point, or is there a way to know when a lightning deal will go live?

If you were following the other door buster TV (the 50” Hisense) Amazon listed that on the 11th as upcoming at 9am EST. There was no notice of the 55”, but Amazon stated they dropped new deals every 30 mins, so you had to keep checking every 30 minutes sharp to see if the price dropped. The Hisense foreshadowed when this was going to drop so it wasn’t a far stretch to assume this would also be done at 9am (likely for the non-early access people). Also if you were checking before 9am today, you saw the $50 off sale go away at 8:30am, presumably in preparation for the big deal to go live at 9am. There were lots of clues, just had to know where to look.

I just happened to be on Amazon when I saw the countdown for the deal. As soon as it went live I hit the add to cart button, and I was already too late. I’m on the waitlist.

There was never a time listed. They’ll be dropping deals randomly the next two days. Defintely confirmed via the Amazon Corp. blog that this will be happening.
