Our Verdict
Pretty much a free $20 for Amazon, just be sure to use it up on Prime Day 2024. I’m not sure if those who have done this deal before can do it again. Last time around it was $20 off $40, this time it seems to be $20 off $30, though there is some conflict in the terms. We’ll add this to our main Prime Day 2024 page.
Downloaded Windows app, put a single folder w/ single photo in it
Got $20 off $40
got
Sorry, you are not eligible for this offer.
afterward
so, if you see that message, it means you’ve used it
Few days ago I saw that I was eligible and did the steps. I saw the $20 off coupon yesterday but seems to have disappeared today and page shows I am no longer eligible.
I got $20 off $40

“you are not eligible for this offer”
Amazon very rarely thinks I am ‘eligible for this offer’ sadly.
Operational question from not-very-savvy guy (me):
If my iPhone photos are currently being backed up to iCloud, will backing them up using Amazon Photos replace that, duplicate it, or what? Thanks!
it does not affect icloud as amazon photos is a separate service. all it does is copy them into the amazon servers.
you won’t delete anything unless you specifically “delete” them via the amazon photos app (it should give you a warning when you try though).
when i previously used amazon photos, i think they had an option to “offload” the photos once uploaded to amazon (i.e. delete them from phone), but you should be able to disable that setting.
thx!
FUCK YOU BEZOS, YOU BALD HEADED WANKER!
“Sorry, you are not eligible for this offer.
This is a limited-time offer for customers who meet the eligibility criteria for this promotion.
Our records indicate that you are not eligible for this offer.”
“Backup your Photos with Amazon Photos”
In this context, it should be back up, not backup. 🙂
“you are not eligible for this offer” Seems like a YMMV sort of situation.
