Amazon Prime Store Card Now Accepted At Whole Foods

There are three versions of Amazon credit cards: Chase Visa, American Express business, and the Synchrony store card. The latter is a store card and can not be used outside Amazon. Amazon announced that the card can now be used at Whole Food by generating a special in-store code from within the Amazon or Whole Foods app. For Prime members, the card will also earn 5% back at Whole Foods.

Yes, I’ve seen a small to moderate variety of the usual brands.

The Synchrony card is far easier to get and the CL is extremely generous with time. I don’t feel the need to shop outside of Amazon/Whole Foods with an Amazon card, so it’s perfect for my own use.

AMEX Biz Prime card, also have the Store card. I just had plans to close the Store card, saw comments about this on Reddit a couple of days ago. Still might cancel the Store card, the AMEX card gets 6% back at WF.

The AMEX card doesn’t get access to the daily deals that the Store and Chase cards do, but I never find any of that jun…, er, stuff worth the price of postage…

Synchrony one is way better than the Chase one if you are only using it on Amazon.

What are synchrony points worth? I’d value chase points at 1.5 cpp so I use Freedom on 5x that quarter and GCs other times. I have the Amazon chase card but it’s just my default payment if I screw up and don’t have Amazon GCs loaded into account

I’ll buy whole foods GCs (that I bought via Amazon using Amazon GCs I bought from Ink at office store). If there’s a shorter path to 5x (7.5%) I’d take it

Does Whole Foods sell gift cards? If so, are they excluded form the 5%? That’s all that really matters here, isn’t it?

the only thing that I like at Wholefoods in Seattle is Greek yogurt (overpriced of course).

Whole Foods is such a rip off. Prices are even more inflated than Gelsons.

This is perfect then since you can now finance your monthly grocery shopping at 0%!

That is not true and just a knee-jerk stereotype.

Their organic produce prices are comparable to organic produce at other supermarkets.
We have found that Wegmans organic is more expensive than WF.
WF produce is better quality. We notice.

A lot of the non-organic produce is just slightly more expensive than Target in my area. However, the quality is way better 90% of the time. WF is far cheaper than regular grocery stores for most things except meat, which is always more expensive at WF. 365 everday/WF market items are often similar quality at a cheaper price than popular brands.

Remember when they were called ‘Whole Paycheck’.

It’s hit and miss, IMHO. I was on the road this past weekend, a WF had 3-item meals for $14 – a huge slice of macadamia crusted salmon and two generous sides that beat any restaurant for the two of us. And WF has the lowest price by at least $1.50 for a container of Alexandre’s A2 milk. And they carry all 3 FIX sriracha sauces.

That’s just a stereotype. The exact same 1 pint Driscoll’s organic blueberries is cheaper at Whole Foods than at Sam’s Club. The Ezekiel breads are also cheaper at Whole Foods than at Walmart, especially when it’s on sale.
You know what grocery stores are overpriced? Safeway and Albertsons. They are super expensive and the produce quality is crap.

I wonder if this means the Affinity FCU card will get 5% on Whole Foods. Or, equivalently, if we eventually will be able to spend Amazon gift card balance at Whole Foods.

Doubt it. This is less of a category coding thing than Amazon allowing equal access for both their Chase and Synchrony products.

When will the Whole food stores accept the Amaozn gift card as a payment?

This is the question. But it already works for pickup orders.
