The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)

  • Amazon is letting you thank your driver with $5 by saying to an Alexa device “Alexa, Thank my driver”

The Fine Print

  •  first 1 million “thank yous” will get $5 per thank you

Our Verdict

Looks like you can do this an unlimited amount of times and it’s valid for the first 1,000,000 thank yous. Good way to get drivers doing more hours during the busy holiday period.

For those who are wondering, you don’t need an Alexa-enabled device to do this, you can simply search “thank my driver” in the Amazon app and it’ll get applied automatically.

So what? You only do nice things if you can get recognition for it?

Steve is definitely the type of person to humble brag and post all the nice things they do on social media.

Going by the math sports teams use, I just added $25 into the local economy

God forbid the gajillion dollar company just pay drivers a wage that already includes the averaged out over 2080+ hours a year pennies that a $5 “tip” represents. No, instead they try to act charitable by psychologically conditioning consumers to continue accepting tipping for more jobs that were never and should never be a tipped wage type job. All so they can more easily continue to pay less wages from their pocket and subsidizing them with an increasingly accepted tip portion of the compensation, much the same way other low wages and high profit companies do with welfare and social assistance that the taxpayer funds as indirect low wage subsidy. Additionally, anyone who says something so insanely stupid and ignorant like “it does not cost you anything” or the equivalent, is so woefully ignorant of basic economics that it is mind-boggling. A cheap attempt at turning $5M into some free publicity for a megalith of grotesque consumer and worker exploitation.

FAQ said “You can thank your driver for the same delivery multiple times, however, the driver associated with the delivery will only receive 1 “thank you” per delivery.”
