The latest Amazon Shop With Points deal for Chase Ultimate Rewards added a new 100 points minimum spend in order to get the discounted offered. You can see the current Chase Ultimate Rewards offer at this link (contains our affiliate). Others still have the older version of this offer which does not have 100 points minimum.
When redeeming points at checkout, each point is worth $0.008, which means that 100 points equal $0.80 in redemption value.
This means losing a bit of value on the 100 points in order to capitalize on the promo. Ideally, you’ll want to try maxing out the limit of each promo in one transaction, if possible. Presumably they’ll start doing this for all of their Shop With Points promos, for Chase, Amex, Citi, and Discover cards.
$20 off $40. Needed to use only one point. (Activated the offer several weeks ago.) Thanks, DoC!
I’m trying to use the promotion “Get 50% off eligible products when using Ultimate Rewards this holiday season. Maximum discount $15.” with no mention of a minimum number of points needed, including in the fine print. I signed up for it over a month ago, at the time I had no points to use. Now I do, although I kept only 1 point in my UR account and redeemed the rest.
At the Amazon payment page, it says “Account has zero points balance available” although elsewhere in Amazon, it knows I have 1 point. I’ve talked to several agents at Amazon and finally to one at Chase who says I need to have 100 points. But I am not convinced. I was planning to combine the 1 point with gift cards but I can’t get it to take the point for the promotion.
11/16 datapoint
1 UR point worked to activate 15$ off 50% promo. Combined with GC so that maybe was why the 100 Point Limit didn’t catch me? 50$ phone case for 7.30, nice.
I got 50% off $30. Was able to use just 1 UR point.
Mostly not a big deal…but if you’re like me and only have 7 Discover points and was saving them to use 1 point per deal, it sucks! (That is if it is extended to the other players).
Never got targeted.
FK U Amazon!!!!
Cheap tactics from Amazon. Earlier they have stopped giving offers to household accounts ($50 GC did not work ; $10 Venmo did not work). And now 100 points.
What makes you so sure it’s not Chase?
G haha, funny response.
you are probably correct. Chase loses when you only redeem one point because of the rounding. if this was an Amazon thing it would change for Amex too.
May not be live for everyone yet. I just used the deal, 50% off $30, using 1 point.
I’m guessing it’s only for those who are saving the offer now and going forward
I received the email on 11/19, no points minimum mentioned. I just used it to get $15 off a $39 order using 25 Rewards Points from a Chase Freedom Flex card.
Inflation bites
When did they make Gift of Prime not purchasable with Amazon gift card balance? Did I miss this news somewhere?
