American Airlines Launches SimplyMiles (AmEx Offers for All Airline Members – New Best Buy Deal Added)

Update 6/8/20: New Best Buy deal added, valid until June 30th, 2020. Hat tip to FM

Update 5/25/20: New Best Buy deal added. Hat tip to FM

Update 4/3/20: New CVS/Best Buy deals added.

Update 3/3/20: New CVS/Walgreens deals have been added.

Update 2/4/20: You no longer need a cobranded American Airlines credit card to use SimplyMiles. So long as you have an AA miles account and a Mastercard, you can make use of the program. (ht GCG)

Update 1/2/2020: Terms have been updated to state it’ll work on any Visa, American Express or Mastercard but Visa & American Express cards still not working. In addition some new interesting offers:

  • Earn 1,000 miles after spending $45+ at CVS
  • Earn 150/500 miles for spending $50+ at Walgreens

Update 12/18/19: Some people are being targeted for an extra 5x miles on SimplyMiles offers. Subject line is ‘<name>, here’s a gift from us to you’. Hat tip to reader YRK

Update 11/23/19: Bougie Miles points out that this will work with any Mastercard, not just Citi/Barclay co-branded cards. This means you can stack these offers with Chase/BofA offers as well. You do need a co-branded card to be able to register though.

Original post:

American Airlines has launched a new miles earning opportunity called SimplyMiles. American Airlines cardholders (Citi & Barclays) can link their card(s) to this new program after signing up using their American Airlines number and then activate personalized offers. The program works much the same as AmEx offers or Chase offers, but in stead of cash back or Membership Rewards you earn American Airline miles.

I’m not sure if American Airlines is using a third party such as Cardlytics to power these offers, or if they are doing everything internally.

Has this targeted spend (BB, CVS) officially expired?

As of today, I am still unable to add an Amex card as it’s not 16 digits#. Anyone else with me?

Do GC work at CVS?
T&C exclude them, but are they enforced?

Seems they are enforced at BB, but no DP for CVS

I just registered for SimplyMiles, got 84 useless offers. I don’t think I will ever use this portal unless I see an alert for good one from DoC.
I am seeing better miles/$ for American Airlines at Cashbackmonitor for the same offers
