American Express Adds Digital Waitlist For Centurion Lounges

Not sure how I missed this but American Express has added a digital waitlist for Centurion lounges when they are full. Currently this feature should be available in all lounges apart from the Denver location for some reason. To join the waitlist you need to open the app, card benefits, airport lounge access, select the lounge and then you’ll either receive a QR code to enter immediately or the option to join the waitlist.

It’s sad that this is even needed as these lounges are always so full, but at least you can go and do something else while you wait.

Centurion lounges became such a night market in Thailand like vibe – cheap and always over crowded

What’s really sad is you pay such a high AF and then you go to use the lounge and can’t even get in without waiting on a waitlist.

The digital waitlist has been bunk at every lounge I’ve been to where I’d use it. It’s the same line.

New lounges by other credit card issuers can’t open quickly enough. Lounges are too full nowadays.

This is BS. Added myself to digital wait list and got “we’re now ready for you”. Was told to wait in the same line everyone else was.

What a scam!!

I don’t need a digital waitlist, just give me a digital lounge!

VR headset optional, I want a game where you fight off rats, Karens, and overcrowding all at the same time. All problems imaginable as you advance in each level, from the guy who wants all the buffet bacon, to the Scientologists spotting a UFO.

MIA Airport has long waits at peak hours – im talking 45-60 minutes. I don’t travel with that much time to spare for a flight after security so I started cancelling my cards

Probably for the best. If they aren’t letting you use the benefits why pay for them.

Ugh, now I have to wait for Amex to deliver this exceptional value to me.

Just keep in mind you have 10 minutes from notification to make it to the desk, or the QR code disappears/invalidates. I received mine at LAS just getting off the tram to D gates and made it to the lounge at 4 minutes remaining, so you better not stray far from that area.

I’ve never had to use this in LAS they just tell me when to come back (20 min., etc.).

Friend told me one of the reason they are so full is because active military members get free Amex platinum (fee reimbursed). Is that true?

It’s true that they get amex fee reimbursed. I doubt that is the reason lounges are full though.

Yes the miltary get Platinum (if they are approved) for free. It’s a great perk I support it but most miltary dont use the lounges.

If I were military, I think that I would normally prefer the USO lounge.
