American Express offers a personal checking account and a business checking account. For some time both accounts have had language such as:
- Current and prior American Express Rewards Checking customers are also not eligible to apply at this time.
- Current and prior American Express Business Checking customers are not eligible to apply at this time.
That language has been removed from both the personal and business checking landing pages and it’s now possible to hold both accounts. This matters as both accounts frequently offer bank account sign up bonuses. Neither account is offering a bonus at the moment but we will make sure to post when they do.

I opened Biz Checking six months ago, the account can be managed using the Amex Business Blueprint android app

Had active personal checking. Instant (almost, got 2-5 business day message after submitting application, but got approval email about 2 min later) approval as sole prop.
