Update 1/22/24: AmEx made the following comment to Dans Deals:
We are committed to making sure there is significant, well-rounded value on our Business Platinum Card. You are seeing this expiration date because we are uncertain if these statement credit benefits with these merchant partners will be available after this date, as we continually evaluate our offerings. If or when any of these benefits change, we will notify Card Members in advance.
Original post: Some American Express Business Platinum benefits are now showing an end date of 12/31/24. These benefits include: Dell, Adobe & Indeed. It’s unclear if these will be extended or replaced with another benefit.
Hat tip to Deals Points
No different information, but tpg’s clickbait headline is “Amex Business Platinum slated to lose 3 statement credits: Use them before end of year.”
Very helpful, as I was planning to use both of this year’s credits next year 🙄
I feel an unhealthy amount of rage when I see his articles.
I just wish they would make the $120 wireless credit into either yearly credit or semi-annual credit split into $60 each. Would be so much easier to pay my bills.
I’m hoping for an expanded Staples partnership based off of their newfound relationship with Staples from the updated Biz Gold credits. Replacing Dell credits with Staples credits would be great; they’d be so easy to use. Hoping for Staples credits to replace Adobe or Indeed credits would probably be a bit too much wishful thinking.
Get back on the Podium and fight
Too bad on all the triple-dippers. Thankfully I controlled myself and didn’t open it this year. It’s always tempting.
They’ll get their 3x dell credits, and assuming they retain the calendar year terms, will get to dip whatever the replacement credit is in Jan ‘25.
You can get the card only once in a lifetime with the bonus.
terms might say that but thats not true. The bus plat has been very good to me. I have had multiple opened cincurrently and received bonuses. Triple dip is just smart timing. You can always double dip with one annual fee.
You can get one every 90 days I believe.
I was thinking about cancelling after annual fee hit this year anyways. Too much trouble to get the wireless credit $10 applied monthly manually since they don’t recognize Google Fi. While it’s a known issue, they never tried to fix it. Now with Delta downgrading club access (restricted for Basic Economy) and Centurion Lounge getting less special and longer wait than before, there’s really no reason to keep the card anymore.
That’s good to know. I was considering switching to Fi.
They will raise the AF to $895.
Benefits will include monthly Dell credits of $35, software credits of $35 from ‘Select’ software providers and weekly $5 credits from Staples and VistaPrint. The Airline Credit will also be split into $1 daily credits, but they will only work on your selected airline. This means you could earn up to $1725 per year in credits (as well as top tier status with the airline you spent your entire salary on) making this an incredible deal advertised by TPG this fall with referral links littered through the post.
$1725 – valued by TPG at $3500, just because.
Is that the joke? That Amex Platinum credits will be even more obscure and difficult to use? ‘Cause that’s pretty funny actually..
Pretty easy to use the Dell, Flight and Wireless credit.
ok this joke has been belabored now along with the wells fargo is going to open checking accts in your name joke
I got 4 of these Amex Biz in 1 year . I have a notebook , ps5, Nintendo switch, business quality printer and fancy noise canceling head phones. Not sure what else I would even buy from Dell.
I just buy Samsung SSD’s and Microsoft Office software subscriptions. Can’t have too many of those things in my life. Also bought an Eero 3-pack and a really nice backpack. There are some useful things if you poke around.
Get the office stuff free from work.
If they drop Dell, I’m definitely closing Platinum. At least the Dell credit helped offset the annual fee…
Honestly I’m kind of excited that they’re losing Dell, hopefully they bring on a different couponbook vendor like Mewegg. Ordering through Dell was always a nightmare, first with orders getting cancelled (worse if they’re GCs) and then Rakuten not tracking properly. I’m in this hobby to reap benefits and Amex Dell partnership mostly gave me nothing but headaches.
i had no issues as a reseller. will be sorry to see it go.
plus that’s showing a lot of faith in Amex to replace it with, to paraphrase Brian the Dog “are you sure it isn’t Nothing?”
whereas the next time anyone uses Indeed will be the first.
Anything from Dell worth reselling?
