American Express announced today a new $300 credit for ChatGPT Business coming this spring on the Business Platinum and Business Gold cards.
NEW $300 ChatGPT Business Credit on U.S. Business Platinum and Business Gold Cards: This spring, Amex will introduce the first-of-its-kind ChatGPT Business statement credit on a card, helping Card Members save time and increase productivity.
With this benefit, Card Members can get up to $300 in statement credits per calendar year on U.S. purchases of ChatGPT Business subscriptions (subject to auto-renewal) on the Business Gold and Business Platinum Card. Enrollment is required.
It sounds like the credit will only work for the business version of ChatGPT and not the personal. Business ChatGPT costs $300 per year when billed annually or $30 per month. This credit in up to $300 in statement credits per calendar year and should work for either annual or monthly billing options.
It’s been noted, that Business ChatGPT requires a minimum of two users. If you sign up for an annual ChatGPT plan for two users it will cost $600 and you’ll get $300 back from AmEx. (There’s no sales tax AFAIK.)
Another option might be to sign up for the monthly plan for $60/month and cancel after 5 months for no cost. If someone has three Business Platinum/Gold cards, they might be able to do 5 months on one and 5 months on the other, and the final two months on the third. We’ll have to wait to find out the full details.
For context, the standard subscription for personal ChatGPT is $20 per month (there is also a free option, an $8 plan, and a $200 plan). Perhaps the credit will end up working for the personal version too and then it would be a straight-up value-add for those who pay for a ChatGPT subscription. Many people use the U.S. Bank Triple Cash to pay for our ChatGPT subscriptions in order to trigger the $100 credit on that card.
