Our Verdict
This offer comes around fairly regularly, it was offered at least twice in 2014 (1 + 2), although in the past it has also come with an introductory 0% APR as well. I got this card back in 2014 and it hasn’t been a full twelve months yet so I cannot get it again that twelve month period will be over before this card expires so I’ll pick the card up again.
I like being able to earn 5% at office supply stores, as this gives me another $25,000 in spend each year at there (in addition to the $50,000 in spend I get from my Chase Ink Bold), office supply stores sell gift cards and also regularly have promotions on those gift cards as well.
American Express does combine pulls, but you can only apply for one credit card per day. That means you’d need to apply for a charge card as well as this for American Express to combine the pull into one, the most obvious choice would be the American Express business rewards gold which is currently offering 75,000 points after $10,000 in spend. I’ve already got that card and bonus though, the other option would be the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card which is offering 50,000 points after $1,000 in spend but I don’t think I am eligible for that bonus either.
I’d recommend reading my credit card application strategy to understand all of this a bit better.

This offer is still good through Sept 21st.
Can you verify if you can repeat an Amex business 12 months after getting the bonus, or if it’s 12 months after CANCELING the card? Terms say you can’t have had the card in the last 12 months.. Thought it was 12 months after cancel date… clarification?
“Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product within the last 12 months” my reading is that it’s 12 months after cancel date.
Hi William,
I have a offer for American Express Business SimplyCash, 300 bonus after 3k purchase in 3 months. I think it’s a very good deal. But i just applied Amex buz gold for 75k after 1w and a personla everyday preferred card 1 week ago on same day. Do you think it’s a good idea to apply this card? Since i don’t have chase ink and it seems like i will no longer be approved for one with their new policy. So i think this card is the only one i can use to spend in office store. PS: do you think it’s possible to get bonus to buy nordstorm gift card through Chase Online Mall or discover Deals?
Thank you!
Might be worth waiting a bit before applying. Not sure about Nordstorm gift cards, sorry!
