Our Verdict

The best public bonus on the personal card has been 60,000 miles + $100 statement credit with the annual fee waived (not currently available). I’d recommend waiting for that to come back as it’s regularly available. As far as I know this is the best bonus on the business card so signing up could make sense. I don’t find Delta miles to be particularly valuable, but that really depends on the individual and your home airport/where you want to go. There is also an increased bonus on the Delta Platinum cards as well.

As always before applying for this card or asking basic questions, I’d recommend reading through these things everybody should know about American Express credit cards. If you’ve recently applied, remember that American Express doesn’t usually match sign up bonuses if a higher one comes along but they will sometimes offer courtesy points. You generally need to call and request speaking to a manager as frontline reps/chat reps can’t issue points.

Are the business and personal cards considered separately in terms of the lifetime bonus limitation?

Just wanted to mention:
My wife and I both have the GOLD DELTA AMEX card…
I charges a $13 airfare ticket surcharge onto mines, and 3 days later received the full $100 credit to my account.
My wife charged a $50 delta gift card to hers, and 3 days later received the full $100 statement credit.

Therefore, you need not spend the entire amount to get the delta credit.
Hope this helps.. THANK YOU D.O.C. I LOVE THIS WEBSITE !!!

I signed up about same deal on May, and achieved minimum spend within period. but still didn’t receive 60k delta millage yet.I asked a couple of times with Amex, they said I spent required minimum spend but they don’t know if anything is not qualified. it will be caliculated automatically if I achieve it or not, so CS don’t know if I already cleared minimum spend and I had to wait 8-12 weeks. It has been 4 weeks already. Does it happen a lot? I started to get worry if I can get 60k delta millage sign up bonus…

Hi Mixi, do you finally get the bonus?

And to everyone else who signed up for this round of offers on Delta, have you got the bonus if you meet the spending requirement?

Thanks,

I’m in the same boat. Completed about 2k over the minimum within 90 days and no bonus yet. Multiple calls to Amex rep rewards dep. And they say is now under review and will let me know within an additional 6-8 weeks.

Same here. The real question is has ANYONE had the bonus post automatically? My strategy is to just wait it out.

I got the delta plat bonus just after the end of my second statement, no problem. it’s the only Amex-related bonus that posted quickly. It was all organic spend, though. I wonder if there are certain patterns that send you to human review or maybe it’s just ‘random’ (TSA-style? 🙂 )

Like Dan, I also received a targeted offer with the same details and deadline but lacking the “not available to applicants who have or have had this product”– I have combed the application and fine print. I had a delta amex personal gold 2014-2015. I will probably give it a shot.

Same here…wondering the same. I know there have been exceptions to the once-per-lifetime rule for targeted mail offers. Not sure about this one.

I’m seeing a 50K bonus for 2K spend and a $150 statement credit after a Delta purchase when I select a flight on the Delta website, in case anyone is interested. I guess the two offers are equivalent if you value 1K points at $100, and neither is as good as the 60K + $100 offer they had previously, assuming you could make the 3K spend.
