Update 7/31/19: Reposting as some/all of these are set to expire today (we’ll find out tomorrow if it gets extended).
Update 7/1/19: Reposting as deals are supposed to end on July 2nd, 2019.
The Offer
- American Express has increased the signup bonus on both personal and business versions of the Reserve, Platinum, and Gold cards as predicted. A lot of the cards are offering better bonuses when using a referral. To generate a referral use the following link. You can leave and use referrals in this linked post (do not share them in the comments below).
- Personal offers:
- Delta Gold: 60,000 miles + $50 statement credit with the annual fee waived (there has been much better offers previously)
- Platinum Delta: 75,000 miles + 5,000 MQM after $3,000 in spend within three months + $100 statement credit after first purchase
- Delta Reserve: 75,000 miles + 5,000 MQM after spending $6,000 + $100 statement credit after first purchase (available via referral only. Public link doesn’t have the statement credit)
- Business offers:
- Delta Gold: 70,000 miles + $50 statement credit with the annual fee waived (there has been much better offers previously)
- Platinum Delta: 80,000 miles + 5,000 MQM after $6,000 in spend within three months + $100 statement credit after first purchase
- Delta Reserve: 80,000 miles + 10,000 MQM after spending $6,000 (available via referral only. Public link is only 5,000 MQM instead of 10,000)
The Fine Print
- These offers are valid through July 2, 2019
Our Verdict
All of the offers are quite strong, although we’ve seen much better offers on the Gold card before so I wouldn’t consider getting these now and those come around frequently. Previously we’ve seen a bonus of 70,000 miles + 10,000 MQM on the Reserve card and 70,000 miles + $100 on the Platinum card. So it looks like the above offers are better than those (at least when using a referral link). We have seen an offer of 80,000 miles + 5k MQM + $100 statement credit on the Delta Business Platinum recently.
DP:
$50 Delta GC purchased with Delta Gold card: 8-11-19
Statement credit: 8-13-19
you purchased via delta website on a desktop computer?
My spouse received a targeted 70K offer +100 statement credit on the Delta Gold personal via snail mail. I normally chuck most offers but decided to apply and instantly approved. Have a trip coming up next year and Delta has best rates right now.
dear diary
PSA: DP GC STILL A GO
Statement Credit still works on purchase of Delta GC BUT ONLY FROM DESKTOP BROWSER.
Delta GC purchase posted 7.26.19

Note this is only on Delta Amex cards
Did you buy $50 increments?

So would this still work for the Amex Plat biz and personal?
Not likely.

Same Offer. DPs: Wife got the offer, had only Amex Gold Biz and other Amex previously. I had the same but more churning of Amex. Didn’t get it, and I still get the Pre-apply pop up. Havent tried applying for it yet with her’s because she’s 4.24.
Reminder: if you can find the offer you want via referral the expiration is not until 7/30.
Are the Reserve cards worth it? For $450 annual fee it doesn’t seem like it.
Can I sign up and get the bonus for the personal platinum, if I currently hold the personal Delta Blue card (downgraded from Gold about a year ago)? Thanks.
Yes
