Update 2/2/23: This has now officially launched.
Update 2/1/23: This is now appearing on marketing materials sent out by American Express. Some additional information:

Update 1/26/23: Reddit user blueskyandgoodwine reports seeing this on the Delta Business Platinum card as well. Although benefit still not live.
The American Express Delta Reserve is showing a new benefit called ‘TakeOff 15’ that offers a 15% discount when booking award flights (benefit no longer showing). The benefit doesn’t appear to be live yet as discounts aren’t showing when following the American Express directions:
- Visit delta.com or the Fly Delta app and log in to your Delta SkyMiles account
- Choose “Shop with Miles” when searching for Delta flights for your itinerary
- The 15% miles discount will automatically be reflected.
The discount doesn’t apply on partner operated flights or taxes and fees. Considering the Reserve card comes with a $550 annual fee I can’t see this new benefit making the card worth keeping for people that otherwise wouldn’t unless you had a lot of Delta award flights planned but it is a nice addition for people that already hold the card and find it worth keeping. There are some rumors that this will be available across all American Express Delta cards and that would be extremely useful.
Hat tip to Eye Of The Flyer
How soon after opening an amex can I use the discount? Will I get it before receiving the physical card?
During checkout delta tried to sell this card and adjusted the award price I was reviewing. At least if you apply that way it might be an immediate discount.
I hope someone has a better answer about applying elsewhere and how soon it works
It’s clearly across all Delta cards, minus the AF-free one.
120k+ to fly basic most days from my regional airport in the upper Midwest to Hawaii. Total scam by Delta. They just raise everything by 30% to compensate. It’s another SkyVenezuela devaluation.
Previously skypesos were pretty consistently pegged to ~1.3cpp. Now, if u don’t have a Amex card it’s pegged to ~1.05 cpp. If you fly economy you can find some deals where you can get ~2cpp with 15% off but any premium cabin requires a delta card to get the old ~1.3cpp value
horrendous. half of these flights are 10-20% more. fucken scam. when united ups their lounges i’m going back to chase after 5/24.
Rebooked a flight to Hawaii. Saved 15%.
Did you modify the original reservation or fully cancel and rebook? I have a March flight that has gone up since originally booking. When I try to modify and rebook the same flight (or another priced the same), it’s still pricing at the original amount.
Canceled and ReBooked. The original booking was 3 days ago. Luckily, it did not go up from the original price.
Same situation, I had just made a reservation a week ago (1/28) but it has already gone up. I’m not seeing any way to rebook myself and get the 15% discount.
Debating if I should bother reaching out to customer service but I would say chances are slim. I think that was just a day or two before the 15% came in to effect.
What about travel protections (flight delays, etc.)? It says the taxes must be charged to the eligible delta card. Does anyone know the scope? If you currently charge the taxes on a premium card like the platinum card or CSR, and you charge the taxes on something less than a reserve card, you might be giving up all or some of your protections.
I did not charge to the Delta card and still got the discount (it was another Amex card)
Used an Amex plat just fine…
thanks, good to know
I didn’t find a way to see the discount without cancelling and rebooking. However, the discount was legitimately 15% off the points prices I paid yesterday.
My ticket only jumped 10% so I actually did sace a few miles. I’m in shock.
Why did I get this email saying I get 15% off if I have the no fee card? Odd.
