When you’re a Member, you get more! Amex Platinum Cardmembers can now experience the heartpounding excitement of the Heineken Zero FORMULA 1 World Championship with a $150 credit on Grand Prix tickets! (Credit applies only to AA-category suite tickets. $1000 minimum suite hospitality spend required. Credit available for Sprint Qualifying at the Shanghai Grand Prix and Free Practice 2 at the Bahrain Grand Prix only. Exclusions apply)
Maybe they can replace the airline credits with a monthly $12 Formula 1 credit since they are partners. This would be a fantastic to my coupon book. They could even throw in 1 free bag of small fries in at each event cardholders attend to pacify all the haters.
Get out
Fries are reserved for Centurion cardholders or those with 4 or more Plats
You don’t know how much a bag of fries in Las Vegas GP
I didn’t find any tickets .. just routs me to f1experiences which I’m guessing anyone can browse. Looks like you need to request tickets, can’t even buy them on that site. Totally opaque system.
Funny shit. Although it’s something owned by an American company, it’s still not even cared by in North America, homeland of AE. In many of the aforementioned countries, they will tell you to use Visa/MC or rather cash when you pull out your shiny metal AE.
For example, at this weekend’s FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO 2024, taking place in Mexico City between October 25-27, Card Members have access to complimentary Amex® Race Radios to tune into commentary from around the track. Fans with eligible race tickets can also enjoy the Amex Fan Experience space where they can put their F1 skills to the test with trivia, design a custom livery to take home, record their own F1 driver intro video to share on social and receive giveaways, while supplies last. All of this and more, including the Trackside Lounge in the East Harmon Zone where Card Members and a guest can reserve a session, will also be available at the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN SILVER LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX 2024 between November 21-23.
Some details from the website on what the “perks” might be.
I was at the race and the radio was only available in Spanish. The only other perk I saw was card member bathrooms onsite. All in all a big “meh”. Race and grounds were incredible overall.
after all you are at the MEXICAN GRAND PRIX. .
American Express ™ is excited to announce enhancements to its historical Business Platinum ™ line with $35 monthly statement credits to Formula One™ races. With a full featured suite of benefits, including airline fee credits, Adobe™ suite benefits and complimentary Walmart+™, cardmembers can be sure to generate meaningful value from the fully enhanced fee brought about by substantial customer feedback of only $995. American Express™: It’s everywhere you want to be.
Finally a perk for us legacy cardholders and not all the poors that have got the card in the last few years who can barely afford the annual fee
I don’t follow the joke.
Also, I can’t afford the annual fee.
well….you can’t afford the fee so we get it….let me explain….all events, but one, are outside the United States, which means you would actually have to travel to the destinations….so if you can hardly afford the fee (but really want that walmart + perk) you really aren’t using the card for travel….SO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!
Is it Austin or Las Vegas that’s outside the US? Funny enough for me, Montreal is actually closer. They wouldn’t do Miami because the amenities are taken by Chase. The lounge at the past race was nice if you got in before there was a line.
Is it Austin or Las Vegas that’s outside the US? They wouldn’t go to Miami since there’s already a chase lounge there. It was nice this past year. Funny enough, Montreal is actually closer to me than any of those.
I have a huge stash of points as you can imagine. So flying wouldn’t be an issue.
But yeah, I’m not using *the card* for travel. Just to churn points.
All that being said, I still can’t afford the fee.
In exchange for access to the F1 lounge, a $495 value, we will be adjusting the American Express Platinum Annual Fee to $799. Reserve your spot in line now as lounge capacity is capped at 10 Platinum cardmembers and 45 Centurion cardmembers.
Seems useless partnership. Nothing more than advertisements for Amex at F1 race tracks.
