American Express has added Boxed.com as an additional option for the $10 monthly dining credit on the Amex Gold Card. List of available options is now as follows: Boxed, Grubhub, Seamless, The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Shake Shack.
You can see the option showing live on the Amex site. | Press Release
Boxed is a wholesale goods website, trying to be like the online version of Costco. I’m unsure why that’s considered dining, but I guess they do sell some food.
Anyway, this is a terrific new addition as some people aren’t into dining or don’t like those specific restaurants, and this expands the list with an easy online option. Just be aware there is a $49 free shipping minimum on Boxed.com. Amex regularly comes out with Amex Offer deals at Boxed, and hopefully those will show up on the Gold card as well. There’s also regularly nice promo codes and portal offerings to stack with.
Today, Amex also added back the option – for a limited time – to get the Gold card in Rose Gold.
All in, there are three bits of news today on the Gold card:
- Addition of Boxed.com for $10 dining credit.
- Amex also added back the option – for a limited time – to get the Gold card in Rose Gold.
- Expansion of 4x Dining category from U.S. to being available worldwide.
Effective August 2, 2022, Boxed and Ruth’s Chris Steak House will no longer be participating partners for the $120 Dining Credit
i have a current amex offer on my gold card at boxed for 15 off 75
I don’t think they ship to Hawaii hmmm
I was going to browse and see what Boxed.com had but then the site wouldnt stop forcing me to login…. so nope.
If still interested, you can search boxed via google and go directly to their groceries via the links under boxed.com’s main link.
I bought mixed nuts and trail mix from them. They sent such old crap. I have never bought anything from boxed after that. It’s expensive without all the discounts and amex offers and then they sell crap.
I used to be able to click on ‘all product’ in the small print section of the front page.
But either ways $10 per month for wholesale goods is not really usable.
Does boxed sell its own giftcard?
Amex is really trying to push for everyone to use Boxed.com. Guess it is their best interest since they are the lead investors for Boxed.com’s Series C funding.
