Update 10/12/20: There’s a new offer showing now for 20% back at supermarkets, up to $200, plus 30,000 points after $2,000 spend. I assume most will prefer the referral offer, below. (ht reader Rick)
Update 10/1/20: According to DDG more people are seeing the 60k offer now.
The Offer
Link to Terms 60k | Link to Terms 50k | Public offer
Use a referral link to get one of the following offers:
- Signup for the American Express Green personal card and earn 50,000 Membership Rewards Points after you spend $2,000 on purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months of Card Membership.
- Others are seeing an even better offer of 60,000 points with the same spend requirement.
There’s also a new public offer showing incognito (This is showing up on some referral offers as well):
- Earn 20% back, up to $200 in the form of statement credits, after you use your new Card at U.S. Supermarkets during your first 6 months of Card Membership.
- Plus, earn 30,000 Membership Rewards® Points after you spend $2,000 on purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months.
- The regular public offer, without incognito, seems to be 45,000 points.
Card Benefits

- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3x points on
- Restaurants worldwide

Our Verdict
Reader Tom is pulling up the 60,000 offer (not clear what the ‘new launch offer’ verbiage means), whereas my referral links pull up the 50,000 offer. Previous best was 45,000 points, and that one was hard to pull up with 30,000 being the more standard best offer.
Really a terrific offer. Currently this is only available via referral link; remember, you can use a link from any card to get this card, so ask a friend or family member for a link to give them some referrer credit.
Keep in mind the sign up bonus is once per lifetime. As always please read this post on everything you should know about American Express cards.
No referrals or email exchanges in the comments here! You can instead find and & share links in this linked post.
Do not ask or post referrals. Chuck specifically asked people not to and I’ve still had to remove lots of comments. Follow the rules.
Does anyone know how AE reimburse the clear membership? If you choose the monthly membership 15/month, does this card reimburse all fees before reach to $100? Or it only reimburse once a year and you have to purchase annual membership? Thanks for any DP.
Been trying for months for both me and wife to get the dreaded popup to go away but no luck. Getting a no lifetime 75k platinum after already having 100k platinums seems to have done us in finally.
I cant seem to get the 60k offer no matter what referral I use. I’ve also tried multiple locations using a VPN in different states and no luck.
FYI, the 30k + $200 offer was available since day one of this round of promotion, Sep 10th.
(Gold card has the same configuration – 60k vs 35k + $250.)
im not seeing the 60k offer…
“Refer a Friend to apply between 10/1 and 10/28. Once they’re approved, you will earn 3 more Membership Rewards Points per dollar you spend for three months. Terms Apply.”
I believe it’s on top of the usual referral offer.
Oops I didn’t see that, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, posted about this already!
I have two AE card currently and haven’t applied for AE card for a few years. Never apply for Green Card.
When I tried to apply through the referral link here, I got the no bonus pop up.
A little bit disappointed.
Friend received my referral through email. Link does not populate anything while using Chrome and Edge.
I keep getting this new offer for 30k MR’s plus 20% back of supermarkets up to $200. I value MR’s at 1.25 cents so that’s a lesser offer. If I click enough times I get the 50k to show up again but not the 60k. BUT it doesn’t matter since I’m month 5 of popup thx amex
I remain skeptical about 60k via referral.
Did anyone actually see one with a referral link? I know many have seen it via CardMatch and Pre-qualified tool, but I’m unsure about referral.
Have not yet. I’m wondering if location makes a difference, I’ve seen varying offers for plat depending on VPN.
Tried DOC’s referral links. Seeing some 50K not 60K. With $150 Annual Fee, would it be worth?
