Our Verdict
This is the best public offer we’ve ever seen on this card and is a really terrific deal. I was able to find this offer via referral link as well, useful for someone in 2-player mode. Best offer we saw in the past was 60k; this time there’s the added $200 statement credit deal.
There are also increased offers on select cards only via referral link: the Platinum card, Gold card, Blue Cash Preferred. See this post for more details on those offers.
Keep in mind the sign up bonus is once per lifetime. See this post to learn about whether the Green card counts as one of your AmEx spots. As always please read this post on everything you should know about American Express cards. We’ll add this bonus to our List of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

How does the %20 travel credit work , is it similar to the Gold Resy %20 dining credit? Gold dining credit was posting few days after , combining multiple credits into one.
It’s giving me 20% statement credit of each item practically the day after I spend the money. Like, I take an Uber on the 3rd for $20, and then there’s a credit on the 4th for $4 from “Uber” on my transactions the next day
This promotion is a scam. Myself included, 8 of my other friends and families all got pop ups when we have never got a pop up before
P2 got popup jail from referral link
looks like this big greencard signup is designed by amex RAT teams to catch all churners
I should have at least wait sometime after reading these many comments
RIP, first time pop-up jail. Been an AMEX customer since 2008
Mr, Bagel, you are not eligible to receive the welcome offer. In determining eligibility, we considered your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors.
We have not yet performed a credit check. Would you still like to proceed?
Note: Your application will be considered withdrawn if no action is taken on this page.
Only 2nd CC with Amex, and Pop-up Jail. 🙁
Same here. Sent friend my referral and pop-up said he wasn’t eligible for the SUB. AmEx asked if he still wanted to continue the app. He cancelled it. This is strange considering he only got the Platinum a few months ago and never had the Green or any other AmEx card before. And he has plenty of other cards but not that many in the past two years (less than 6 or 7)
This is a decent but not great offer for 60K points and $50 . Terrible transfer partners. 60k won’t fly me anywhere in coach internationally. Wanted to apply but since there is no option to Downgrade to no fee card, I changed my mind . Amex doesn’t like those that cancel after first year and they age notorious for banning and taking away everything !
clearly you don’t know what you are talking about,
Last month I redeemed one way ANA ticket from ORD to HND for Feb 24 with 32500 miles from Virgin and you can easily redeem a Europe return ticket under 60K.
Amex also constant give 20-30% bonus transfer some of the partners (ex. Virgin Atlantic) so 60K could become 72- 78K miles
60K is enough to redeem an ANA Biz class from Virgin Atlantic
And before VS adjusted their ANA First class redeem table a few months back. I redeemed ANA First class ticket from HND -ORD for exactly 60K that I flow in July.
Thanks for sharing. Did you make the reservation online at virginatlantic.com? I have tried multiple times recently but never seen ANY availability, so I’m wondering if I did it wrong?

google is your friend

Google only pretends to be your friend.
What are your fees though. ANA fees on award flights are ridiculous. If you don’t mention ridiculous fees than you are basically lying.
It is not ridiculous I have previous posted a comparison using ANA website and it is EXACTLY the Taxes and Fee they charged from ANA . My Feb flight from ORD to HND paid $230ish USD Taxes and Fee.
If you go to ANA website and search for a return flight in Mid Feb and departure on a Fri (which is when my flight depart)
The cost of the ticket would be $1232.00
Taxes plus fee is $450.75
The total of a return flight is 1682.75
divide the Taxes and fee part 450.75 by 2 = 1 way taxes+fee
The fee is $225.37 ish
I paid $230 for feee and taxes 1 month ago (probably some foreign exchange diff)
P.s> I use return flight because one way will be much more expensive
So here you see there is no difference.
Yes You can use United to redeem the same flight and pay $5-10 fee but then you pay at least 80K united miles for an one way ANA flight which is more than double the miles I used to redeem 32500
Frogger you either pay more miles or use real money
And no one force you to used miles
if you are not intelligence enough to figure out how it works ,just use cash..
You are paying $450 round trip for an award ticket. Also this card has a $200 fee. So you just paid $650 for an award flight. Congrats on losing. Compare this to Chase Inks where you can get 140k United miles and only pay a $99 fee. I will fly United and fly for free while you pay $450 and a ton of points probably flying on a date no one is flying as well.
If you’re gonna make all these comparisons to Chase Ink, it’s probably worth mentioning it has double the spend requirement in half the time.
ANA is a fantastic program. We transferred AX points there and just booked an open-jaw trip to Thailand with a Singapore stopover for 160K points. Fees would be higher on ANA, but ours were only $190 on Singapore metal. Is that ridiculous?
So you just need three of these cards for one ticket? Too bad you can only get one.
You don’t know how to use these points if you can’t find an international flight for 60K. I’ve flown r/t on Air France for 34K (and it’s even less with transfer bonuses.). I’ve frequently flown r/t to Madrid on Iberia for about 50K in economy and one way for 30K in premium economy–and they frequently have great transfer bonuses.
I just checked Air France 110k to fly to Paris and $200 in fees. You guys are suckers. Of course if you fly a day no one is flying you can get deals but guess what you can fly with cash at that point and it would be less than $800 for the flight.
Use cash the end of discussion
The points on Air France does not change with the cost of the flight. I did this flight in May/June for 34K points and $160 in fees. The flight cost $1700. You’re obviously pretty new at this so maybe get a little more experience before making these kinds of posts and calling us “suckers.”
LOL I fly my family all over the world for free. There were no flights to Paris in June for 34k. round trip. I have been churning for 7 years. My daughter is 8 and has been to 15 countries. But yeah you know best. Lol.
Don’t tell me there were no flights to Paris in June for 34K. I left on May 25 and returned on June 6 out of MIA. Bought two flights for my wife and myself. It’s quite clear you don’t know what you’re talking about.
I can’t attach a screenshot but here’s a copy and paste from my Air France account, which departed around Memorial Day weekend:

You do realize your trip was in the past? I flew from US to Prague for 60k Miles United in June and not in May. And my fees were less than half of yours.
The current rate for same trip is :
137,000 Miles
+ USD 201.35
WE can’t fly in the past. We are talking about what you can use the miles for in the future.
And I flew on the weekend not on Tuesday and Wednesday like you. And if you are so excited about Flying Blue guess what you can get a Chase Ink and get 140k points and transfer them all to Flying Blue. And it only has a $99 fee in stead of the $200 fee on this card. And the ticket fee. So all this stupidity you got less miles from Amex than you could have gotten from Chase.
You specifically said “There were no flights to Paris in June for 34k. round trip.” I was responding to that. And that flight cost $1700 in cash. I also recently booked a one way for 17K. It doesn’t matter what the current rate is for the same trip. You need to find a good date to get this offer. AF mileage fares are variable. I’ve never said it’s always 34K but you just keep saying how we’re suckers and you can’t find any international flights for under 60K with Amex points. We’re trying to show you that’s incorrect but you’re obviously not listening to anything anyone is telling you. I have a flight booked to London/Prague next week for 60k AA miles, but I don’t see the need to compare that with the AF offer. Your whole point is that there are no good deals with Amex, but when we show you good deals you just won’t listen.
The Chase Ink is a great card but not everyone will get approved for a Chase business card. It’s not as easy to get Chase business cards as other banks. On top of that the minimum spend on that is $8k. I prefer Chase points over Amex, but in this particular instance it was better to use Amex points. 34K r/t plus $186 in fees is a great deal for a $1700 flight. And at the time I went AF was the only nonstop from MIA, which makes this deal even better. I slightly adjusted my desired dates to get each flight for 17K and it worked out perfectly. No one is saying to choose this Amex card over the Chase Ink. But if you don’t have to worry about 5/24 then there is no reason not to get this card.
