Our Verdict

There is a no NLL (no lifetime language) offer on the no annual fee card as well. Both links were retrieved from e-mails, so I suspect these offers are meant to be targeted but aren’t for whatever reason. Keep in mind there is significant risk involved when it comes to these offers. Personally I’m giving them a miss due to American Express’ track record of handling things like this, but up to you if you want to apply.

The best bonus on this card is normally 150,000 points so really only attractive if you’ve already had the card before. Because of that and the risk involved I won’t be adding it to the best credit card bonus page for now. If you have any questions about American Express, read this post first.

Have had 3 Surpass previously. Applied via above, got card, met min spend day I got card, got 125K points two days later

Applied for both the Hilton Ascend and the NAF for player 5 within minutes of each other. Got temp card number, used to meet min spend in minutes, points posted within a few days to my hilton account all before I even received the cards. 200k there. Now to churn through the rest of the 4 players.

Have you had these cards before? Me and Player 2 both hit spends on the NAF but haven’t gotten the bonus posted (we each already had a NAF)

I applied two days ago, but after instant approval, I tried to get a temporary number and the system froze. I never received an email about the application like I usually would. Nothing is showing up when I go the Amex Application checker. I’m going to wait a week or two to see if I get the card in the mail. Anyone else have this issue?

I currently have 4 other Amex cards, but don’t want eyes on this app, as I have held the Surpass (and every other Hilton card) in the past, so I won’t be calling to speak with anyone.

I think Amex sometimes gives you a statement credit when they fail to provide number after signing up

I went ahead and took the gamble and applied for this card. I have had it in the past but did not currently hold it. Cards arrived in the mail today. Had a chat with Amex support, and they confirmed the 125k point bonus on the account. We will see if it will post! A data point for everyone

How are these links released? It’s unusual for Amex to not be aware of a promotion without proper language. These are deliberate, to gain more information. Trap.

I didn’t want to risk this, so I went ahead and got the Amex Hilton Business for 125k (plus 15k MR from my personal Plat self-referral). Like Ascend, it has 6x points on gas (and wireless bills too). Unlike Ascend, I have never had it.

I was at my 5 credit card limit so in order to get this card, I had to cancel one card (AMEX always makes this easy, I apply, it goes pending, so I call and tell them I’ll can cancel ___ card if I can get the new card). I happily canceled the Bonvoy Business (old SPG Biz). I barely use it or Marriott since the merger, so it’s win-win.

“If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome offer(s) that we did not intend for you; if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months after acquiring it; or if you cancel or return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount), we may not credit Hilton Honors Bonus Points to your account. We may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us.”

Yes?
Standard language for all Amex these days.

Yeah, but this was obviously targeted to a specific email. That’s the difference here so it was not intended for you!

By the way my Fiancé had a financial review. She only earned 4K last year. I encouraged her to send in the IRS authorization form they requested (nothing to lose). They lowered all 6 cards to 3K limits. I was so glad… (FRs are not as scary as initially thought).

Maybe only $4k in dollars, but what were the earnings in miles?

Thanks for the datapoint.

Yea feminine ass men. Nah real man bruh. Does not matter what my lady makes if she got a good heart and is intelligent no need for her money or worst want to be with her based on finances. That’s some wack childish mentality and that’ll eventually backfire when you seek to be in romantic relationships with a selfish agenda, the benefits or material status instead of from an honest and true heart space. But to each its own. Lol.
