American Express Hilton Increased Bonuses (Up To 175,000 Points)

The Offers

Direct link to offer

  • American Express has a number of increased offers currently on the Hilton cards:
    • Hilton Honors Card – 100,000 points / $2,000 spend in 6 months
    • Hilton Honors Surpass® Card – 165,000 points / $3,000 spend in 6 months
    • Hilton Honors Aspire Card – 175,000 points / $6,000 spend in 6 months comes with a free night certificate as standard)
    • Hilton Honors Business Card – 175,000 points / $8,000 spend in 6 months

Our Verdict

We recently saw some increased offers that included a free night certificate on some cards:

  • Hilton Honors Card – Earn a Free Night Reward + 70,000 Bonus Points
  • Hilton Honors Surpass® Card – Earn a Free Night Reward + 130,000 Bonus Points
  • Hilton Honors Aspire Card – Earn 175,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points (this also comes with a free night certificate as standard)
  • Hilton Honors Business Card – Earn 175,000 Bonus Points

This round of offers the Aspire and Business are the same, but the no annual fee and Surpass card are significantly worse. Might be worth considering the Business and Aspire card if you have immediate need of the points/benefits otherwise I’d just wait until you do need them and definitely wait for a better offer for the Surpass and no annual fee card. We will add the business and Aspire to the best credit card bonus page.

Are the Hilton gift card purchases still working for the Hilton credit?
I purchased on the 19th, but the needle hasn’t moved.

I’ve had a regular Hilton Honors AMEX for years (shoot, I had it when it was a Citi card!).

If I go to my personalized upgrade offers, I have an offer to upgrade to the Surpass card; however, they only want to give me 50k for the same $3k spend.

I technically got a sign up bonus for Hilton under Citi…not AMEX. I would love to do the “new account” Surpass bonus instead. Would it be better to just try to apply for a new Surpass (with an existing regular Hilton Honors card) or call AMEX and see if they will give me a larger bonus if I upgrade…perhaps even matching the new account offer? And any advice on making that request?

Any way to figure out which Hilton Cards I’ve had in the past to avoid rejection/wasted apps? Never used to keep as detailed notes as I do now.

175k is barely enough for two nights at the Hampton inn that cost $90 a night in cash ! Bad offer

Sounds like a you problem. That’s enough for my 2 award nights at LXR villa.

I was able to use this for 3 nights in Paris last April for a hotel costing about $400/night.

You’re exaggerating but the point stands that you shouldn’t get one of these cards without a redemption in mind.

This is unbelievably laughable. You obviously aren’t not qualified to comment on Hilton points.

Check Puerto Rico Carine Hilton 60k a night for a $500 – $900 property.

You have to look at hotels outside of the US (especially luxury hotels) if you want a good hotel points redemption. Yeah Hilton usually isn’t quite as good of a points redemption as Hyatt, but there are valuable redemptions to be had overseas

too dramatic. I can get 3 nights in Hawaii at the $400 hotel with those points

I’m in popup jail for most Amex cards right now, including the Hilton Honors and Hilton Honors Aspire cards. However, I qualify for the bonus on the Surpass. Worth checking all the cards if you’re interested.

Standard Hilton and Surpass have 30/35k higher points but no free night cert. I wouldn’t say those are “significantly worse”. That’s $180/210 in value in points using TPG estimates. Unless you’re pairing them with the Aspire a single fnc probably wouldn’t be a significantly higher value for most people.

Hilton FNC’s worth far more than $180/$210. Depending on the property you use at of course. I have used my FNC for $1,000/night property.

Using TPG estimates, you can also increase your net worth by 16% if you spend your entire life savings on Hilton points when they’re on sale for 0.5 cents.

I got pop up jail for the Surpass. P2, who also had this card the same time as me, was approved a few months ago.

I’m in pop up jail as well with Amex for most of their cards. They are being pretty stingy about handing out SUBs these days, unfortunately

Got approved for my 2nd Gold card a few months ago and like I said, P2 was recently approved for her 2nd Surpass. A mystery as to how this works.

It isn’t a mystery, once in a lifetime is once in a lifetime unless you are using NLL links which you would have to in order to get a 2nd bonus on cards. Months back there were NLL links posted…
