The American Express Hilton Aspire card offers a $200 semi annual resort credit. It seems what is defined as a resort has been tightened and only properties appearing on this list will trigger the credit. Some properties that appear on the official resort page will not trigger the credit.
Previously the American Express Aspire landing page linked to the official resort page, but it now links to the more restricted Aspire resort page. There are ~260 properties on the Aspire page and 300+ on the official resort page. There is also at least one datapoint of a property appearing on the official resort page and not on the Aspire resort page not triggering the credit.
Hat tip to garettg
the list isn’t true vs resorts on their website, I stayed nearby our hometown just to use the credit , its not on the list but i got the credit for both rooms btw 2 account from wife and I .
the resort is The woodland resort by curio collection and its not on the list.
When did you book?
I assume that property is near Houston,TX. I had a stay there in Christmas weekend last year and it triggered a resort credit. Since it’s not on the list anymore it can be risky. When I booked last year, it took the deposit a few days and resort credit was given a few days after that. You could cancel the reservation and get the deposit back while the resort credit doesn’t get clawed back.
Is this effective immediately? Not sure they can do that?

Anyone know what the effective date of this change was? Unless I overlooked it, I didn’t see it on a statement. I have had a charge pending (charge is not pending, credit is pending) for several weeks at a resort that is on the old list, but is not on a new one.
Effective August 1, 2024. It was in my last Aspire statement under the important notices…

So there’s also no resort fees if a hotel is not on this list, right?
I don’t see that theory working for the Conrad Las Vegas…It’s a resort and they charge resort fees. It’s idiotic that Hilton took them off the credit list
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is no longer on the list 🙁
was it ever on the list? i dont recall any resort properties in amsterdam
The property I had speculatively booked is not only not on the list, the whole place is now a Garden Inn lol
Does anyone know if this will affect the purchasing of Hilton gift cards for the credit and can we assume this will also happen to the Hilton Surpass credit’s as well?
gift cards was never a possiblity anyway. You can’t buy them at Hilton front desks and charge them to your room. Marriott used to sell gift cards but now fewer and fewer do. Never was a thing for using Hilton Aspire credits though.
Rigo was most likely referring to Surpass and the Business card’s credits, which do work with GCs (plus that darned $1.95 fee).
In less than a week, we shall see.
I won’t be buying all four of them at once like I usually do. If one works, I’ll do the other three. P1 and P2 both have Surpass and Hilton Business. I usually do $50+$50+$75+$75 one after the other. I’ll do my Surpass first, see what happens, and then try my Business card.
Some Hiltons don’ts accept Hilton gift cards. Imagine some Starbucks not accepting some Starbuck gift cards.
This is a stupid list sorted by brand rather than location. Who ever says, oh I want to stay at an Embassy Suites, lemme see where I can go to find one?
It sucks but it won’t affect me. I almost always use this credit in SE Asia where it covers at least a night. I normally book for Sept and call in June to have them charge $200 pre-paid to the room and then use the other $200 when I stay. Just did it last week in Penang and got 4.5 nights covered and an awesome upgrade.
