Our Verdict
The Delta Gold offer comes along regularly (and it might still be possible to get the same offer on the business card) so it’s not exactly exciting. I don’t think I’ve seen this Platinum offer in the past, although they did offer 45,000 miles and 15,000 MQM back in July of 2014. The standard sign up bonus is 30,000 miles + $50 for the gold card and 35,000 miles + 5,000 MQM + $100 statement credit for the platinum.
It’s important to remember that you can only get the sign up bonus on American Express personal cards once per lifetime, so you want to make sure you’re getting the best possible deal there is before applying. I don’t really need any Delta miles at the moment, so I’ll probably give these offers a miss but the Platinum offer is somewhat tempting.
Given how often they seem to offer the gold bonus, I’d recommend holding out for something better unless you need the Delta miles in the short term. If you haven’t already I’d also recommend reading our post on 15 17 things everybody should know about American Express.
I got approved of the Gold card with 50k + $50 through dummy booking.
This spend requirements was only $1000.
Does anyone know if Delta GC purchase would trigger the $50 statement credit?
It does. I did this last year.
Great, thanks very much
The link takes you to an offer with $2000 spend vs the $1000 noted above….Gold Card.
It would be really nice to see this go up on the Platinum business Delta card. Here’s hoping!
I was able to call and get this offer for the Delta Platinum Business Amex. I think the online link should be up soonish but if you are impatient you can call.
