• You can currently receive a 40% transfer bonus when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Alitalia miles. Normally you can transfer 1,000 MR points and receive 1,ooo Alitalia miles, during this promotion you’ll receive 1,400 Alitalia miles instead.

The Fine Print

• Minimum transfer is 1,000 Membership Rewards points.
• Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. CT on November 22, 2016 to 11:59 p.m. CT on December 31, 2016, to receive 40% additional Alitalia miles.
• Additional Alitalia miles will be awarded at the time of transfer.

Our Verdict

In October they offered a 25% transfer bonus, then they devalued their miles dramatically (basically double the price, but View From The Wing has been told they won’t increase the price of Alitalia flights until 2018). Previously they have offered a 25% transfer bonus as well. Personally I wouldn’t make any transfers unless you can find value in a flight you want to book ASAP.
