American Express is now reporting new credit cards to credit bureaus much sooner than before. Previously new American Express cards would be reported to credit bureaus after the second statement cycle. Originally it looked like the new rule as that these would be reported after the first statement cycle, but there are datapoints of the cards being reported mid cycle (as soon as 12 days after opening. Datapoint sent in via e-mail) as well. It’s probably best to just assume that these accounts are being reported immediately for now. The reason this matters is for Chase 5/24 purposes.

Opened Amex Hilton Aspire on 3/28. No hard pull as expected, and the new account has yet to be reported to the bureaus. Over two months and counting.
Opened Delta Gold 4/2 and it’s still hasn’t been reported to any bureaus
Applied Hilton surpass on 5/18 and it hasn’t shipped yet, anyone is having same situation? I called few times and they expedited few times already.
I opened an Amex Gold on May 5th and it appeared on my credit report on May 20th, which was one day after the first statement closed.
My new BBP reported it basically two days later
Are you confusing HP and account?
BBP does report.
My BBP does not report on my credit report. You must mean the hard pull. Once you have an AMEX card, they do not do a hard pull for any new cards. At least in my experience.
Unless the rules have changed, I’ve always gotten a hard pull when I was approved for a new Amex and no hard pull if I were declined. I was however soft pulled when I was approved for Biz Green.
I had a hard pull on my very first Amex card (Business Gold) and my 2nd Amex card (Marriott Bonvoy) which was opened 6 months later. Ever since then, I never had any hard pull on 6 other Amex cards. So YMMV??
Got the vanilla plat in early April and reported at the close of the first statement.
Yep just got Amex gold 10 days ago it posted today on Experian.
FUCK YOUUU AMEX!!!
I feel like Chase forces AMEX to do so. FUCK YOU Chase!!!
Bad news for those who cares about 5/24, but honestly I’ve made too much from Amex to bad-mouth them.
Two-week reporting is pretty standard. We’ll just have to live with it.
DP: Opened a Schwab Platinum in April, reported to Experian at the close of the first statement in mid-May. Bummer because I was counting on reporting after the second statement close to apply for a Chase card.
(Edit: Reported 4 days after the close of the first statement.)
Seems like a pretty easy workaround would be to apply for the Chase card before the AMEX card instead of trying to game the system?
Honest question. What benefit do you get from not applying for both at the same time or Chase first then Amex?
@Williams are you aware of the new offer of the Barclay’s red aviator card 60,000 bonus points AF waived first year?
Yes, we already posted that one

Any idea if I can get approved if I currently have the non fee version of the aviator?
Don’t think so, but I might be wrong.
So would you rather close it and reapply in 3 days? Or apply anyways and if they reject call recom explain that this is the Paid version and wana close the previous one to approve the new one ?
@Williams its possible to have both. I called in and asked and was told that technically it’s not considered as the same product but it’s possible the system can decline it if they see I already have the non annual fee version. However if I get declined I should call in and ask them to close the non annual fee version in order to get approved for the new. Applied few minutes got instant approval!
